QB POS End Of Day not matching Sales History

Welcome to the Community space, @JennJoe88.

We see the importance of this matter and want to ensure we provide the details you need to address this situation and match the sales history with your end-of-day sales in QuickBooks Point of Sale (QBPOS). Reading through your post, you'll want to review all the transactions you have and determine which transaction causes the mismatch. In case there are missing transactions, here's how you can restore them:

  1. In QuickBooks Desktop Point of Sale, select Financial, then Financial center.
  2. Select Show Advanced Options.
  3. Select Recover Data Now.
  4. Select Continue on the warning message.
  5. Enter the date range that was covered by the original financial exchange.
  6. Type Yes in the confirmation window and select Continue. A reminder, this sends the transactions to QuickBooks Desktop again.

For more details, see this page: Point of Sale transactions are missing in QuickBooks Desktop after a financial exchange.

Thank you for your quick response. I do not have my QB POS linked to my QB Desktop, therefore, I cannot click on "recover data now" as it is grayed out.

Is there something else I can try?

Thank you for providing additional information about your POS sales, @JennJoe88. I appreciate your efforts in following the suggested steps.

As you are unable to select the Recover Data Now option, I suggest reviewing your transactions to locate any missing or duplicate ones that may be causing the mismatch in sales amount.

To identify the root cause of this issue, please consider the following possibilities:

  • A backup was restored in QuickBooks Desktop after the financial exchange.
  • Transactions were manually deleted from QuickBooks Desktop.
  • A different QuickBooks Desktop company file was opened.

Moreover, you can perform the following troubleshooting to narrow down this issue.

  1. Create a backup then restore to a different file backup files in QuickBooks Desktop Point of Sale.
  2. Run Verify Data utility then compress Data Base.
  3. Perform a clean reinstall for QuickBooks Desktop Point of Sale.

See this article for more information: Point of Sale transactions are missing in QuickBooks Desktop after a financial exchange.
