Hi DawnB25, 

 

I've been following this thread for a while now and wanted to say your comments (as well as many other posters) are always so accurately worded and capture my exact thoughts. I appreciate reading them. 

 

I just wanted to ask you though, what version of QB Desktop are you running where you can email these bill payment stubs? I have Desktop Pro 2023 and in this version, I don't have the option to email. Where you show the drop-down menu under Email, mine only has the Print button that is next to it.

Sorry I am just seeing this now! Thank you for your kind comment! Going back and reading my old comments makes me feel I was a little aggressive but I get so frustrated with these guys! 

 

I am using Enterprise Solutions Wholesale and Manufacturing 2022. 

 

I'm surprised all verisions do not offer the feature to email stubs. I wish they would have an "email later" place to check like they do for printing. 

 

When you pay the bills themselves and then the box pops up showing all the bills that have been paid, is there an email option there?

Feedback does NOT work.  I've been complaining for 20 years for something QB broke on a new version way back and never fixed it.  Its a critical issue; randomly QB replaces a part number on a SO from another number somewhere else in the document.   We have tested it and its when you leave the curser in that field and leave to a webpage to copy another part number.  When you come back to QB, one of the many lines items will be changed.  Typically its the first line, but not always.

Its 2024 and its still not fixed.  We have to do screen shots to send to vendors so they can see the entire invoice number.  QB Sucks.  Another reason to look at Netsuite

Its March 2024 and still not fixed in QB 24.0.  You can NOT customize the bill pay stub.  The invoice number column is too small for many "ENTERPRISE" vendors.   FIX IT>

Why would we continue to submit feedback when QB doesn't pay any attention to it - this issue has been going on for several years not and seems to have a lot of complaints but nothing is ever done about it.

I jumped from page 1 to page 6 of the thread.

My issue with the template in my QBDT is it says "Dear Vendor,  We have received your payment in the amount of $$$$"

 

It should say "Dear Vendor We have sent your payment.... 

 

I have to edit each one. Cant send multiple emails or I would love this feature!

Yes, monthly subscription went up $170 and I hear it's only going to get worse until I give up.

I understand that every penny counts, Lori631. QuickBooks continues to improve its products with features that support the customer's needs.

 

The option to modify the default bill payment template in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) is unavailable. What you can do is create or add another template and set it as default for emailing all the bill payment stubs. I'll guide you through this process.

 

  1. Go to the Edit menu and select Preferences.
  2. Select the Send Forms menu and then the Company Preferences tab.
  3. From the Email Templates dropdown, select Bill payment stub.
  4. Click Add template, then edit the body of the email.
  5. Then click the Default box, then select Save.

Once done, return to print your bill payment stub by going to the File menu and then Send forms. You will notice that each body of the email is updated. Refer to the example screenshot below.

 

 

You can also send multiple emails by selecting multiple send to box and email them to the same email address. See the screenshot below:

That is incorrect information. The stock template cannot be modified. 

 

You have to create a copy of the one QuickBooks provides you as the default. You know, the one with grammatical errors that makes no sense. 

 

Click "Add Template", then correct the verbiage and edit to your liking and save it. Don't forget to set it as the default as well.

If you make a copy of the bill payment template it blocks the layout designer on that one too.  Come on QB, this is a simple fix and a major league screw up changing the form to a useless POS.   The reference field is too small to show many vendors invoice numbers.  Make this form available to layout designer.

That is true, the layout designer does not work at all with bill payment stubs. But if you create a copy at least you can edit the text in the body of the email that goes along with the bill payment stub. 

 

But I agree, we have been asking for years to allow the bill payment stub to be edited with the layout designer like every other form can be. I don't understand why it is that hard for them to figure out.

I did not want to waste a lot of time personalizing our Bill Payment emailed message but wanted it to be worded a bit differently, so this is what I did:

I use Desktop Intuit QuickBooks Enterprise Solutions 23.0

Edit Menu

Preferences

Send Forms

Company Preferences

Used the drop down to get to Bill Payment Stubs

Lower left-hand corner clicked on "Add Template"

Entered my changes, saved

Should show up as Current Default, saved, reopened and my changes were there.

I've used various versions of QuickBooks Desktop programs since 2011.

Hope this helps someone today ☺

It appears this issue has existed for TWO years and people have been sending feedback to Intuit for those past 2 years, so why does this thread still suggest to submit feedback? Recently upgraded from 2021 to 2024 because the older version was no longer going to be supported at the end of May. I'm glad I resisted upgrading for 3 years, but now running into the inability to import timesheets and now this. So frustrating that functionality DISAPPEARS in upgrades.

Over 3 1/2 years when this was first posted and QuickBooks has their heads so far up their as5es it is unreal. The en5hitification of everything is becoming too much. Pay more. Get less.

 

Customer service? Not a thing. Let the bots handle it by posting the same response over and over. Only ones to help you are the people in a community forum not getting paid to help out for a program they didn't create or own. What a joke. 

 

The only solution is to get rid of this program. Having no simple fix for a stupid column that is not wide enough where it truncates information is absolutely asinine.

 

I don't know about y'all but I am done with this program. Having a meeting with company owners to move to something else. Good bye QuickBooks, you have been terrible to work with. You will not be missed and I'll be sure to continue to tell business owners that I meet to avoid this program at all (greedily high) costs.

I found that if you go into the actual check, there are 3 tabs at the top.  Go to the reports tab, then transaction history prints all the history connected to the transaction...which for me included the whole REF NO, that was cut off printing the "BILL PAYMENT SUMMARY".  Hope this helps someone!!

That isn't a solution. We aren't going to send our vendors transaction history reports in place of bill payment stubs. It's helpful, but it isn't a solution. You guys STILL haven't allowed the bill payment stub template to be editable with the layout designer. It's been years that we have been complaining out this. COME ON ALREADY AND TAKE 5 MINUTES TO HAVE YOUR DESIGN TEAM FIX THIS ISSUE.

You offer nothing. Seriously, zero, zip nada. Absolutely worthless words you probably didn't even type. It's just a standard auto reply you and the fools around you inject over, and over, and over, and over, and over again with every post here. 

Look back at this post. There are pages of complaints and all you and your waste of space employees do is tell us how to make a suggestion

Is there even a department that reads the suggestions? Ha! I kid of course.
