Hi there, @bodest.
I've checked the snap feature of the QuickBooks Online App and it's working fine. I'd recommend performing the troubleshooting method since you've already ensured that your camera setting is good. This way, the data stored in the app will be refreshed.
Here's how:
Once done, you can test to snap a receipt and check it afterward if the photo is not blurred anymore. If yes, I'd suggest uninstalling the application and reinstall it. This is done to start using the app on a clean slate.
To do that, follow the steps below:
Here's an article for more details on how to manage the snap receipt feature for your future tasks: Capture and categorize expense receipts and bills in QuickBooks Online. This also contains a sub-article about the compatibility of the Apple image format.
I'll be here if you have other questions. Feel free to let me know in the comment section.
I just installed on my partners phone, and it's doing the same thing. It has to be on your end or something with a Samsung s21 ultra. But it did work just the other day. Now I'm really stuck with a box of receipts right at tax time.. very frustrated, please help or fix.
I've just tried all your suggestions, even installed it on my partners phone. It's doing the same thing. Seems to focus and then bam! as soon as it snaps Blurry! It has to be something with the last update. Or something with a Samsung S21 5g ultra. But worked previously. Please help! Its tax season!
Hi, @bodest.
Let's fix this and ensure to capture the receipts steadily to avoid blurry photos. This may be the reason the system isn't reading the data showing in the mobile application.
If the issue persists, I'd suggest using a third-party application to capture these receipts that can integrate with QuickBooks Online (QBO). You can check mobile applications apps.intuit.com.
Alternatively, access your QuickBooks Online (QBO) through your computer to email or upload receipts. From there, you can follow the steps in this article to add receipts: Manage your receipts in the Receipts tab.
I've attached this article on how to email your expense receipts to get them into QuickBooks Online: Email your receipts.
Also, since you've mentioned that this is also happening with your partner's device, I'd encourage contacting our Care Support team to report this issue. From there, they can investigate why it becomes blurry after focusing and snapped photos.
Feel free to tag me here if you have other concerns with QBO mobile app. I'm always here to lend you a hand. Take care!

Me too. With my S21 ultra, the receipt looks clear until it takes then it's blurry and unreadable. Husband's S10 works fine. I can do mobile deposits with the bank & pictures are clear so it's not my phone that's the issue. The S21 ultra worked fine snapping receipts until a week or two ago so something definitely changed.

Beep no longer occurs when snapping, but that's okay because it was annoying.
I have the exact same problem on a s21 and on my Pixel 4 it work well...
Same issue for me, S21 ultra. Looks clear as day, but as soon as you snap the photo it goes blurry. I just started my subscription yesterday and was looking forward to this feature! what a bummer it does not work!
