Hey community,

I need a little help once again. Thanks in advance for any help or tips.

Is there any way to do a specific customer report that sorts per invoice to show individual payments and balance due on each invoice total.

Thanks for providing more details, @Jonathan07.

Yes, you can! You'll just have to run the Invoices and Received Payments report in QuickBooks Online. I'll guide you how:

  1. Go to the Reports menu at the left pane.
  2. Type and look for the Invoices and Received Payments report.
  3. Choose the desired date in the Report period section to show each invoice with their respective payments and payment numbers.

Also, you're able to customize this report if you want to see more details aside from the ones you mentioned. Please refer to this article to know how to do it: How to customize reports in QuickBooks Online.

You'll also want to memorize the customization you've made for this report so you'll not be redoing the process: How to memorize reports in QuickBooks Online.

Fill me in if you have more questions. I'll be around to help you achieve your goals. Take care and have a good one!

Welcome back to the Community, @Jonathan07.

Based on that information, you can run the Customer Balance Detail report in QuickBooks Online (QBO). This will give you the payments for the invoices as well as the balances of your customers.

Here's how to pull it up:

  1. In QBO, go to the Reports menu at the left pane to get to the Standard report page.
  2. Type Customer Balance Detail in the search field, then select it in the drop-down to open.
  3. Choose your preferred date in the Report period section, then hit Run report to refresh.

Just in case, I'll add this article for future reference: Run reports in QuickBooks Online.

Reach out to me in the comment below if you have any other questions or concerns, and I'll get back to you as soon as possible. I'm more than happy to help. Have a good one!

Hey FritzF,

Thanks for your response.

I think what I'm asking isn't possible but maybe if I give some more detail you can say whether or not it's possible.

I would like to see an entire year of payments (and invoices we sent) from a specific customer and this customer never pays exact but rather lump sums and therefore I would love to see how each invoice was paid and with what payment.

So, example.

We have 12 payments (1/mo.) of 1000 and our customer pays $2300 in March, and then again $4500 in June and then again $4000 in December (leaving an open/overdue balance of $1200). Can I see a spreadsheet of each invoice (for example: Inv. #1 - #12) on a report with their corresponding payments (and payment numbers)?

Thanks again for any help.

Y'all are the best.

Jonathan
