separate reporting for multiple checking accounts

brand new to QB and am using QB online.

I've got multiple checking accounts that came in via a download from the bank into one account on QB.

How do i create reports for each checking account and year end info for each checking account for my accountant?

Good day JW12941!

Let me help you in creating a report for each checking account in QuickBooks Online.

You can pull up the Transaction List by Account report in QuickBooks Online. Follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Reports menu.
  2. Search and select Transaction List by Account.
  3. Click the Customize button. From the Account drop-down, select the checking accounts.
  4. Tap Run report.

Another option is to pull up a quick report. From the Accounting menu, find the checking account, click the drop-down next to the View register, then select Run report.

If what you meant is that you imported the transactions from different checking accounts in to one bank account on your Chart of Accounts, the best  option is to turn on the class tracking. This allows you to add a class to the transaction when categorizing it. This also has a report that shows the transactions by class. You can check these articles for the detailed steps:

This link will show you how to run, customize, and save a report in QuickBooks Online: Run reports in QuickBooks Online.

Shoot me a reply if you have other questions in running a report. I'll be here to help. Wishing you all the best!

great info. This is getting me closer to the info i need.

the businesses are real estate companies managing multiple rental properties each as well as some timberland in one entity.

now the next step is to be able to show the income and expense by property.

is it possible to get on Zoom in real time and do a screen share for some direct coaching?

Thanks for the reply, JW12941!

We can customize the reports in QuickBooks Online to see the income and expense by property. I can show you the steps.

The Profit and Loss can be customized to show the properties depend on how you set them up. For example, you can add them as customers, class, or locations. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Reports menu.
  2. Search and select Profit and Loss.
  3. From the Display columns by drop-down, select either Customer, Class, or Location.
  4. Make sure that the Report period and the Accounting method are both correct.
  5. Tap Run report.

Also, I added these articles if you want to connect your online banking to QuickBooks Online. This can help you to categorize and reconcile your accounts.

In addition, you'll want to reach out to our Support Team. They have a tool so they can do a screen share with you for further assistance.

  1. Click the (?) Help icon and enter Talk to a human (then type it again when prompted).
  2. When asked by the bot, enter "Report".
  3. Select I still need a human, then proceed with Contact us or Get help from a human.
  4. Choose either Chat or Callback.

Keep on posting here if you need further assistance in running reports. I'll assist you. Thanks!
