When tags have been set up, and displays on screen money in and money out.  Can we get a report from that screen?  Running report, does not give totals.

Let's run the Profit and Loss by Tag Group report to view the totals, SimplyWonderful.

You can also customize the report to show specific details. I'll guide you how.

  1. Go to the Reports menu.
  2. Type in Profit and Loss by Tag Group in the search box.
  3. Click the Customize button.
  4. Choose the correct dates on the Report period field.
  5. Under the Columns drop-down menu, choose the correct group name.
  6. Select Filter, then choose the group name under Tags.
  7. Click on Run Report
  8. After that, click the amount under the group name to view the totals.

Once done customizing, you can memorize the report in QuickBooks Online. This helps you to save the current customized settings. Then, set a schedule and email information for the memorized report.

I'll be glad to help you again if you have more questions about running reports. Just add the details in the comment section.

Hi there! Is there a report like "Income by Customer Summary" but for tag groups?

We want a fast way to see the percent of company income for each tag. When I run a P&L by tag group it doesn't give me the company totals, only the totals for what's been tagged.

I've got your back, @SHSBookkeepers.

I have additional steps about running tag reports in QuickBooks Online (QBO). This way, you'll able to see the percent of company income for each tag quickly.

As of the moment, we can only customize the Income by Customer Summary Report by specific CustomersPeriod ComparisonReport periodAccounting method, and Number format

As a workaround, we can customize the Profit and Loss by Tag Group Report to see the percent of company income for each tag. You can follow the steps outlined by CharleneMae_F above. But make sure to check the %Income box in the Rows/Columns section.

See the sample screenshots below for your reference:

Additionally, you can always EmailPrint, and Export the report. So, you can use it outside QuickBooks or for future reference. For the complete steps, visit this page: Run reports.

To learn which reports are available for your version of QBO, check out this article: Reports included in your subscription.

Let me know if you have any other questions about generating reports in QBO. I'm always here to help. Keep safe.

@MichelleBh  Thank you for your help. However, the % of Income it shows you is the percent of the total income for THAT TAG; not the percent of the company's TOTAL income for that time period.

Thank you for getting back to us, @SHSBookkeepers.

I've double-checked the report and what you've found out is correct. The option to show the company's total income for all tags is unavailable in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

For now, the Profit and Loss by Tag Group report will only provide you the total income for each tag. Although, you can export your data to Excel and manually add their totals to get your total income for that time period. Here's how:

  1. Go to Reports and open the Profit and Loss by Tag Group.
  2. Filter the report according to your desired info.
  3. Click the Run report, then select the Export button.
  4. Choose Export to Excel.
  5. Open the Excel file and sum up your company's total income.

Additionally, you can send this as a suggestion to our Product Development Team. This way, they can review your request and check if they can include this in their future updates.

I've also added some resources that you can use in managing your reports in QuickBooks:

TAGS = WGC1, WGC2, WGC3, WGC4, WGC5

I want a report that shows the following:

WGC1+ WGC2+ WGC3 = WGC Programs

WGC Programs + WGC4 + WGC 5 = Total WGC

Thanks for joining on the thread, Tanya.

I'd like to share some information about the Profit and Loss Tag by Group report.

In QuickBooks Online, only US has an exclusive that can run a report in Profit and Loss Tag by Group. However, if your subscription is in US we can do a basic troubleshooting to identify if this is a browser-related concern.

I recommend logging in to a private browser. Here are the shortcut keys for these browsers:

  • Google Chrome: press Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: press Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Microsoft Edge: press Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Safari: press Command + Shift + N

Then, access your Profit and Loss Tag by Group report. If this works, clear the cache of your regular browser to remove accumulated data. Please note that you can exclude the Password and other sign-in data in the Advanced section when clearing the cache. You might be used to logging into your account without typing your passwords.

On top of that, if the issue is still there, I recommend contacting our Support Team to further assist you in navigating the root cause of this issue.

When you finish your report, you can print it or export it to the Excel file.

If you have any further concerns about your reports, please don't hesitate to share them with the community.
