In QuickBooks Online where is the "Transaction Detail by Account"?
I found the P&L easy enough but now, for a specific date range, such as 01/01/2017 - 12/31/2017, I want all of the entries under each heading and sub-heading. As an example of one of these would be the detail of each and every Automobile Expense / Parts & Service for that time period. All of the income and expense entries will be on it under each "Account" which used to be "Category" I think.

Thank you very much for the reply . . . although there would be no thanks for another Intuit push to upgrade.
I don't have this option - I have by date only.
Let me help and guide you in the right direction on how to run the Transaction Detail by Account report, birchbay888.
Based on the information provided, it looks like you're using the Simple Start version. As previously stated by my colleague, the Transaction Detail by Account report is only available in QuickBooks Online (QBO) Essentials, Plus, and Advanced.
To gain access to the mentioned report and other financial statements, you can consider upgrading your current subscription to another one. Here's how:
Check out this article for more information: Upgrade or downgrade your QuickBooks Online subscription. It includes instructions on how to switch back to your previous subscription.
After that, log in to QBO and navigate to the Reports Center. Then, open the Transaction Detail by Account report.
If you're already using the correct version ( Essentials, Plus, and Advanced) and are unable to locate the report, could you send a screenshot of your company or the Reports Center? This will help us determine the source of the issue.
I've also included some links below that outline the list of reports available in each QBO version, as well as steps to fine-tune report layout and data:
If you have any questions about the reports or other product-related issues, leave a comment below and tag my name. I'll be right back to help you out, birchbay888.
