Trying to get shipping address to show on the invoice. I read through help and made sure ship to box is unchecked.

Hi there, @bdamm.

Let's get that shipping address show up in sales transactions.

If you want the Shipping Address box to show on the invoice, please follow these steps:

  1. On the Gear icon, click on Accounts and Settings.
  2. Click on Sales.
  3. Click on Shipping and tick on the box to turn it on.
  4. Click on Save.

But if want the Shipping Address to automatically show on the invoice, you need to make sure that you've set up a shipping address in the customer's profile,

If the shipping address is the same as the billing address, you can tick the box for "Same as billing address" in the customer's profile.

Here's how:

  1. On the left panel, hover your mouse to Sales, and click on Customers.
  2. Click on the customer name.
  3. Click on Edit.
  4. Below the customer name, you may enter the address in the Address tab.
  5. Click on Save.

See the screenshot below for your visual reference.

Trying to get shipping address to show on the invoice. I read through help and made sure ship to box is unchecked.

Two questions:

1. If my shipping address is different from my billing address, so I un-tick the check box and enter the shipping address.  But then, on the invoice, the company name of the billing address also appears on the shipping address.  What do I do if I am shipping to a 3rd party?  I can't seem to get rid of the company name in the shipping address

2. If I un-tick the box, but leave the shipping address blank, the invoice gets created with the shipping address the same as the billing address, and the tick box is checked the next time I go into the invoice.  That just doesn't make sense!

I appreciate you for laying out the details of your concern with us, @crossbat.

I can share some insights on how to isolate this issue and send your invoices seamlessly.

I suggest logging out and logging back in to your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account. This will refresh your account and for the updates to take effect.

Once done, you can now send your invoices efficiently. Furthermore, I'm attaching these links that you can read for your reference. These can guide you on how to modify your invoice and record your customer payments:

Thanks for your reply, but if I have to log out and in again every time I change something on QBO, then something must be wrong.

Something else strange happened.  I decided to just make the shipping address the same on the customer record, and then the invoice actually put the new shipping address into the shipping field without the company name.  That is weird.  Can't imagine the system would be designed like that, but it's very frustrating when you are trying to get something out late on a Sunday night with no chat or phone support available at that time

I can share a few information about the shipping address, @crossbat.

Ideally, you'll see the shipping address info once you've deselected it from the customer's profile. Let's perform some basic troubleshooting steps to fix this.

There are times that the browser is full of frequently accessed page resources that cause some unusual responses. You can log into your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account in a private window (incognito). Here's how:

  • Press Ctrl Shift (Google Chrome).
  • Ctrl Shift (Firefox).
  • Control Option (Safari).

Once signed in, check the invoice shipping address. If it's working fine, return to your default browser clear your browser's cache. Every so often the cache becomes overwhelmed with older data which can potentially cause viewing and performance issues. Clearing it will refresh the system, and you'll be able to work with a clean slate. However, if the issue persists, try using other supported browsers.

If none of the recommendation seems to work, please contact our Customer Care Support so we can investigate further. You can use this link to reach out: QuickBooks Online Support.

Additionally, here's a link that'll guide you through in managing customer-related tasks. It has topics with articles to guide you along: Invoices and payments.

Keep me posted if you have other questions or concerns I can help you with. I'll be around for you. Take care and have a good one.
