Vendor/Customer Field Autofilling with same vendor

Hello,

Using Quickbooks online, the customer/vendor field is autofilling with the same customer each time. It happens when adding a new customer and when confirming transaction information. The behavior is always the same. With the confirming transactions, when I click on the transaction to set the category the "Customer/Vendor" field is blank but when if I click out of it and go back into that same transaction then the "Customer Vendor" field is populated with the very first customer I ever entered into Quickbooks. His name is Brian. Its always Brian. Its never anyone else. Only Brian.

Same kind of thing happens when I add a new customer. When I add a new customer and enter their name into the customer name field and then press the "+details) button Brian's customer is autofilled as the parent. Every time.

What it is about this specific customer that is taking over my Quickbooks?! I think I have every autofill feature turned off.

Vendor/Customer Field Autofilling with same vendor

We can perform some troubleshooting steps to get this sorted out, BTOWNMN.

We'll need to make sure the Pre-fill forms with the previously entered content option is turned off on the Account Settings page. This automatically fills other fields of the form, based on the last saved transaction for that customer, vendor, or employee. If you already disabled this one, let's try signing in to your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account using a private or incognito window. This mode doesn't use the existing cache data and helps us confirm browser-related issues. There are times that the browser stores frequently-accessed data, which may cause the program to not work properly. Please use these keyboard shortcuts:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Internet Explorer: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Safari: Command + Option + N

If it works, go back to your regular browser and clear the cache to delete those temporarily stored files and browsing history. The overtime collection of data can create corruption, however, removing this should fix the issue. You can also use other supported, up-to-date browsers to roll out the possibility of a browser-related issue.

If the same thing happens, I'd suggest contacting our Customer Support Team. They'll pull up your account in a secure environment and investigate what's causing this issue. To ensure we address your concern, our representatives are available from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM on weekdays and 6:00 AM - 3:00 PM on Saturdays, PST. Vendor/Customer Field Autofilling with same vendor

Hello there, BTOWNMN.

For some reason, the field auto-filling with the last name you manually saved in QuickBooks.

If you have tried following the recommendation shared by my colleague above, we can go ahead and contact our specialist. At this time, we'll need to conduct further investigation of this behavior. This way, we'll know the main cause of why the Vendor/Customer field is auto-filling with the same vendor.

Here's how to contact them:

  1. After you log in to your QBO account, go to Help.
  2. Enter a short description of your concern.
  3. Click Talk to a human. Then, I still need a human.
  4. Get a callback from our specialist.

Feel free to check the articles below to learn more about bank feeds and how you can keep your transactions organize:

I'd be glad to help if you need additional assistance. Also, you can post and update here on how the call goes. Take care always.
