Let's check to see if the error you received is just caused by random browser issues.
We can start by signing in to your QBO company using a private window. This step will disable the extensions and stops the cache from saving your search history.
If there's no error while on a private browser, you can clear your browser's cache. If not, please use a different browser to see if this only happens to the one you are using.
On the other hand, you can also check some references for QBO on the main QuickBooks Support page. Just scroll down a bit, and click More Topics.
Feel free to share an update about your journal entry or ask if you have other concerns. I'm just around to help.
Thank you - I already tried in a private browser, same issue

I appreciate you followed the steps suggested by my peer, @userholly-brown.
I'm here to share more information about how QuickBooks journal entry works.
For any line in a Journal Entry (JE) that you've posted to an account that is Accounts Payable (A/P), you can save it normally when a Customer name or Vendor name is added to the journal. Since this isn't the case, I recommend contacting our QuickBooks Support Team.
They're equipped with tools to check the cause. It'll also enable them to submit a ticket to our engineering team to alert them about the issue if necessary.
In addition, if you've created a journal entry by mistake in the future, you can reverse or delete it in QuickBooks Online. This ensures your books are accurate. Furthermore, you might need to create a bill or expense when recording your expenditures moving forward.
Let me know how it goes or if you have other QuickBooks concerns. We're always here to help. Stay safe and healthy.
Can I use any vendor for my Journal entry
Thanks for joining this thread, @rolo50. You can use any vendor for your journal entry, as long as it's correctly associated with the accounts and amounts.
Also, you can only use the vendor's name if you're posting the entry to the Accounts Payable (A/P). However, if you're assigning it to the Accounts Receivable (A/R) and want to use the vendor's name, you'll need to add the vendor as a customer with a slightly different name. This way, you can choose it when you create the journal entry. In this process, we recommend consulting with your accountant to ensure the accuracy of your books.
In case you need to reverse or delete a journal entry, you can refer to this article for guidance: Reverse or delete a journal entry in QuickBooks Online.
