I'll share some insights about QuickBooks Checking and envelopes, rob_unstablemolecules.
The QuickBooks Checking tab doesn't include envelopes as part of your QuickBooks Checking total balance. You can go to the Banking menu to see the amount in your QB Checking account. It includes the total balance, including your envelopes.
You can visit QuickBooks Checking to learn more about this feature.
Also, I've attached some articles about managing your envelopes and using your QB Checking:

Thanks for that, and I do understand how that works. But what I'm saying is I transferred $40 out of an envelope into the main QB checking balance, and that $40 dollars shows in the envelope history as having been transferred to the business checking (which is the Quickbooks checking) and in the total balance removed the $40 dollars entirely. To test I tried again by moving just $1 to the main balance, and then the $41 total showed up there, with no transaction trail in history accounting for the $40 ever having been added back to history in main balance, but the $1 did. So I then decided to move all of the different envelope monies to my physical bank checking via ACH transfer. They all went through, accept one for $119, which now shows as Achout Pending, but for some reason still shows in the envelop balance even though you can see the transfer out in the transaction history. None of this is making sense and I don't trust it so I'm just going to use my physical bank. Should the $119 still process? The others all did right away, so why is that "pending." Also, the $0.16 in the envelope called "Estimated taxes" says it isn't really there when I try to transfer that. Frustrating time with this software.
Thank you for the additional details, rob_unstablemolecules.

Thank you, I will be doing that. That it has happened at all has really shook any faith I had in banking with this QB checking.
Omg! Similar issue just occurred with me except I was transferring a balance from Quickbooks Checking into an existing envelope I had. An error message occurred that didn't allow the transfer into the envelope, but then my money disappeared!!! Never encountered this issue before, but definitely will not use Quickbook Checking moving forward. Now, I have to try and recover the money that vanished!!! I’m livid right now.
Several months ago I had a $5K client deposit disappear as well. The client showed me his CC receipts so he most definitely paid me. The money never showed up in my QBO checking account. After weeks of reaching out to QB one gentleman explained to me that there was a Green Dot software issue (?). He said the best thing to do is to make another account (maybe a personal or another business account) my primary bank rather than QB bank. The change can be made easily within the QB app. The money appeared almost instantaneously. I stopped using QBO as my primary bank which sucks because I liked the convenience of it.
I recently tried to transfer a small test amount of money from my personal bank to QB bank. It still doesn't work. The money did NOT make it to QB bank.
