Is it possible to create a "Packing List"/"Bill of Lading" in Quickbooks for Mac 2013? If so, how or at least where can I find the information on how to do it?
With your invoice active select "standard packing slip" from your template list.
Can we have customized packing list which also shows total weight of the shipment?
Hello, KreativeSignals.
Customizing packing slip template to add the total shipment weight is unavailable. As a workaround, you can manually enter this information on the memo or description field.
I’ll also make sure to take note of this feature and share it to our developers for future updates.
Stay around if you need anything else.
Can we add custom fields to our items for weight or gallons that can pull into a template?
Hi CrisPete,
Thank you for posting here in the Community. Allow me to step in and help you with adding custom fields in QuickBooks Desktop.
Yes, you can customize the template layout to enable the custom fields you need. Here's how:
For your visual guide, I'm attaching the screenshots I recommend:
I'm linking an article with additional information on this, such as customizing form templates:

Thank you for your help!
But can you list totals for weight ?
Hi there, @SharkNY.
How's your day so far? I hope all is well.
As my colleague has shared above, using a custom field for weight would be the best solution for now. Showing the totals for the weight isn't possible at this time.
However, I understand how having this option would be beneficial for you and your business. With that said, I wanted to let you know that I've submitted this suggestion to our Product Development Team for further review. This way, the feedback can be taken into consideration for a future update.
For now, I recommend visiting the QuickBooks Blog for any new updates released from our product engineers. I recommend bookmarking the link I'm adding below to keep you up to date with the product:

Hi, I have read the threads above and I am also looking for a package that can offer a packing list. I understand the pros and shortcomings of doing this with Quickbooks and think that the solution offered may work for me. The problem I have is that I am on a 30 day trial package, I have formed a "dummy" company to see if QB is indeed the correct package for me before I commit to purchasing the program.
I would need to generate/modify my own packing list as explained by your colleague but the problem I have is that I cannot see and don't have access to the tabs on the top. I do not have access to the "lists" and from there "templates" tabs to generate my packing list. The question is this - Do I not have access to these features because I am using a trial version of QB or is it because I am doing something incorrectly? I am working off a PC -not Mac, using QB online 30 day trial version.
Hope to receive a reply, and thanking in advance.

The original question and answer are for QB Desktop. If you prefer to use QB Online, you should consider having an inventory management app with the packing list feature to integrate with QB Online.
