Remove Partner from Quickbooks

I can help you in removing the partner from your account and their equity from your reports, @tripmcl.

If you've added this as a user, you can go to your Customer Account Management Portal (CAMPs) to delete or remove them from your QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) account.

Only the Primary Contact has permission to remove a user from your Manage your QuickBooks page. Follow the steps below:

  1. Log in to your My Account
  2. Proceed to the Manage your QuickBooks page, select the product or service you would like to manage.
  3. Scroll down to the Authorized Users section and choose the user you need to delete or remove.
  4. At the bottom of the user's Contact Info, click Remove User.
  5. Click on Remove to confirm the deletion.

The following article will tell you more about deleting or removing, editing, and adding a user in your account: Add, edit, and remove authorized user in My Account (CAMPS)

To remove their equity from your reports, I suggest adding a journal entry. Then, I suggest consulting an accountant for guidance with the best debit and credit accounts to use. Check the following steps:

  1. Go to the Company menu and select Make General Journal Entries.
  2. Provide all the necessary information.
  3. Select Save or Save & Close.

Here's more information about adding, editing, deleting, and reversing journal entries in QBDT: Create a journal entry in QuickBooks Desktop for Windows or Mac

I'm always here if you need help in removing a partner from your QBDT. Just let me know by leaving a reply below. Take care and have a great rest of the day!

Remove Partner from Quickbooks

Thanks for coming back for more support, @tripmcl. I understand you want to remove a partner in QuickBooks Desktop.

Were you able to follow the steps suggested by my peer above? If it didn't resolve the issue, may I ask how the partner was set up in the account?

Any additional information will help me refine my research to find a resolution to this issue.

In the meantime, I'll be sharing a link that you may find useful in case you'll want to change from one business type to another (sole proprietorship to partnership, partnership to a corporation, or vice versa).

I'll be looking forward to hearing from you again. Have a great day!

That didn't seem to fix the issue or I am not doing it correctly. I am not quite sure how it was setup since I did not do it.
