When transitioning from QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) to QuickBooks Online (QBO), you might notice some differences in how your books appear, @cmiars. Let me share some information on why this happens and what to do with this.
It's important to note that not all data will transfer directly due to variations between the platforms and their data management methods. Some data can be converted or copied to Journal Entries (JE) during the migration process.
Certain transactions, such as checks and invoices, can be transferred as JE if tax rates are entered as flat rates (0.00) instead of percentages. In this case, the original transaction cannot be recreated.
Rather than deleting these entries, it's recommended to consult your accountant for guidance on how to handle them effectively in QBO.
If you don't have an accountant, you'll want to visit our Proadvisor website to find one. Our QuickBooks advisors can offer you technical and accounting support.
