Set Sales Price and Categories for Inventory Bundles

Hi, I want to be able to do a work around trick and track my finished inventory goods as "bundles". The biggest problem is trying to set a price and category for my bundles but I was able to do it a few nights back. I don't know how I did it but now half of my bundles have a sales price and category and half do not. Can someone please let me know how I could categorize and set a sales price for my inventory bundles in QB Online?

Set Sales Price and Categories for Inventory Bundles

Hi there, TanyaatTHE.

I'll help you with categorizing and setting up a sales price for your bundle inventory in QuickBooks Online. If selling your products in Bundles, QBO Inventory Bundles offers a simple way to group together products and services. Here's how to create one:

  1. From the Settings icon select Product and Services.
  2. Click New and choose Bundle.
  3. Enter a name for the Bundle.
  4. Enter the products and services you want to include in the Bundle.
  5. Click Save and close.

Here are some inventory-related articles for additional guide and reference:

Please let me know if you have follow up questions. I'll be right here to answer them.

I'm trying to add a category to an item bundle, too.

Set Sales Price and Categories for Inventory Bundles

I've got some info to ensure you can assign categories to your Bundle items in QuickBooks Online (QBO), @CMcK1.

Being able to assign categories to your inventory Bundles (as a whole) is an awesome idea. Currently, they're only used for sales transactions. While this isn't an option, I can share two workarounds you can consider performing.

First, you can assign the categories to each of the products or services that make up the bundle. Second, you can enter the category in the Description column so you can take note of it.

To keep up with the latest news and product enhancements, I recommend visiting our QuickBooks Blog page. From there, you can navigate the What's New in QBO tab to know the newly added features.

When it’s time to restock, you can order inventory right in QBO. Then, track them for accurate reporting. For more tips, please review this article: Reorder inventory or supplies from vendors.

Also, you can use reports in QBO to know your best sellers, what’s on hand, the cost of goods, and more. For more insights, please check out this resource: Use reports to see inventory status and performance.

I've got your back if you have more questions about managing your inventories in QBO. Just leave your reply in the comment section so I can assist you further. Take care and have a good one.

Set Sales Price and Categories for Inventory Bundles

I can create bundles of my three main products, but I cannot set different pricing for each bundle product.

How can I do that? Price rules don't help because you cannot set a rule to a bundle.

I have my inventory set up via the main products for simplification. So any bundle will reduce the inventory of the product in the bundle. I just need a way of setting a price. Should I do this in Shopify?

You didn't fully answer the question.

How do you CHANGE a bundled price?

Changing the bundled price is a great functionality, paul0226.

As of now, this feature is unavailable in QuickBooks Online. A bundled item is simply a group of items you sell. It doesn't have a cost and price of its own.

In the meantime, I'd suggest editing the rate/amount of each item on the bundle when creating invoices. This way, you can change the price of each bundle. For visual reference, I've attached a screenshot below.

You may also want to look for a third-party application that lets you modify the bundled prices. Then, integrate the app into the program. You can visit our QuickBooks Apps Store website or go to the App menu in your account to find the app that suits your needs.

Additionally, you can use reports to see inventory status and performance to know your best-selling products and what available items you have.

Keep me posted if there's anything else you need assistance with items set up in QuickBooks. I'll keep my eyes on this page. Have a great weekend ahead!

How can it be that you are not allowed to set a price? Why would I waste time making a bundle if I don't get to set a price?

Does anyone know of a way around this? I want to track the sale of multiple items in one item (Bundle) and be able to set the price for that bundle.

Hello there, @timleasley. Thank you for posting here in the Community. I understand that you are interested in the bundled price feature in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

Currently, we're unable to set pricing for each bundle in QuickBooks Online. A bundled item is simply a group of items you sell. It doesn't have a cost and price of its own.

As my colleague mentioned above, when you create the invoice, you can edit the rate/amount of each item on the bundle. This way, you can change the price of each bundle. I have a screenshot for visual reference.

If you wish to modify the bundled prices, you can explore third-party applications that offer this feature. Once you find a suitable app, integrate it into the program. You can visit our QuickBooks Apps Store website or access the App menu in your account to look for the app that caters to your requirements.

I'm also adding this article that tackles managing price rules in QBO for future reference: Set up price rules.

Moreover, we can use reports to gain valuable insights into the items you buy and sell, as well as the status of your inventory.

Keep me posted if there's anything else you need assistance with bundle items set up or managing your inventories in QuickBooks. Just leave your reply in the comment section. I'll keep my eyes on this page. Have a nice day ahead!
