Setup for multiple sports teams and bank accounts

I do the books for a homeschool athletic company and we have five different sports with five different bank accounts. Is is possible to set up my chart of accounts where I can run separate P&L and Balance sheet reports for each sport, but then also run these reports all together as one so that I can see the total of all sports?

Setup for multiple sports teams and bank accounts

It's good to hear from you, LKY Homeschool Athletics. Let me help you set these accounts up.

Yes, it's possible to set up your chart of accounts for different sports with different bank accounts and run the P&L and Balance Sheet reports.

Here's how to create an account:

  1. Click Accounting in the left panel and choose Chart of Accounts.
  2. On the Chart of Accounts screen, click New.
  3. Fill in the necessary information and hit Save and Close.

You can get more information about the chart of accounts in QuickBooks Online in the following articles below. Also, this write-up contains information on what are the default accounts that can't be deleted as well as adding sub-accounts:

Manage default and special accounts in your chart of accounts.

Create subaccounts in your chart of accounts in QuickBooks Online.

Once done, you can run the reports by account. I recommend customizing the report to get the specific details you need. You can also memorize it to save its current customization settings. It serves as your record and helps you quickly access it for future use.

I'll be around to help if there's anything else you need. Have a great rest of your day.
