Square BALANCE Account not listed in App settings

I am trying to update the SQUARE BALANCE ACCOUNT in APP TRANSACTIONS but the dropdown menu only lists my old, closed, deleted bank account (checking 3560), not my new and current bank account (Truist). This has caused a full stop in uploading transactions to my sales and tax reports. When I go to APP TRANSACTIONS and try to manually add these transactions, i get error messages like NULL and ACCOUNT DELETED. What am I missing?Web capture_18-4-2022_113614_app.qbo.intuit.com.jpeg

Square BALANCE Account not listed in App settings

Hi there, Emmedco.

I'm here to make sure you'll be able to add transactions in the App settings in QuickBooks Online.

There are times that your browser stores frequently accessed data, thus causing websites, like QuickBooks Online (QBO), to act weirdly. Let's try logging in to your QBO account using a private or a different browser.

Here are the keyboard shortcuts:

  • Safari: Command + Shift + N
  • Google Chrome: CTRL + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox or Microsoft Edge: CTRL + Shift + P

Once done, try to manually add transactions. If this works, it means that you need to clear the browser's cache so the system can start fresh. You can also do this task on other supported, up-to-date browsers

Also, you may consider reading helpful articles that can guide you in managing your books in QuickBooks Online: QBO help articles. This includes topics such as setting up and connecting apps, tracking employees' time, setting up online payments, etc.

I'm only a few clicks away if you need assistance with your other QuickBooks tasks. It's always my pleasure to help you out again.

Square BALANCE Account not listed in App settings

Unfortunately, this solution did not work in several browsers. I think the core issue is not being able to link my new account to the Square Balance Account, and I can't undelete the checking account from before to restore anything. Any thoughts on why Quickbooks is not displaying my new bank account as an option for linking?

Great having you join us here in the Community, @Emmedco. I’ll assist you today, so you’re able to link your account with QuickBooks Online.

First, you’ll want to double-check if your bank account is already connected to QBO. If you haven’t, here’s how:

  1. Go to Bookkeeping, select Transactions, and select Banking.
  2. If this is the first bank account you’ve set up, select Connect account. Or select Link account if you already created one.
  3. In the search field, enter the name for your bank, credit card, or credit union.
  4. Select Continue. Then sign in to your bank with your user ID and password.
  5. Follow the on-screen steps. This might include security checks your bank requires. It could take a few minutes to connect.
  6. Select the accounts you want to connect, then select the account type ▼dropdown. Choose the account type that matches your chart of accounts in QuickBooks.
  7. From there, select how far back you want to download transactions. Some banks allow you to download transactions from the previous 90 days. Others can go back as far as 24 months.
  8. Then, select Connect.

Alternatively, you can also connect your bank account from your chart of accounts. Check this article for further guidance about connecting a bank account. This includes steps on how to download your latest transactions in QBO.

Additionally, I’ll share with you these helpful resources for more details about connecting your Square account and reviewing them to make sure they’re categorized right:

If you have any other questions about bank connections, please feel free to leave a comment below. I'll get back here as soon as I can to help you again. Thanks for dropping by, I wish you a good one!

Square BALANCE Account not listed in App settings

The Truist bank account is already connected to QBO and updates automatically. The issue is getting the Truist account set up as Squares balance account. All transactions are still currently coming through the SECU checking even though the account is closed. Quickbooks is only listing the SECU account as an option for SQUARE BALANCE ACCOUNT. I am looking for thoughts or explanations as to why there is a syncing issue. I have already tried disconnecting square and reconnecting the app. I was able to accept about half of March's app transactions before receiving the error messages and it WAS reflected in my reports. We are approaching this issue with both QBO and Square. Still no resolutions so far.
