Hello rich.car.dirks,
When emailing transactions such as invoices from QuickBooks Desktop, you will be prompted to enter your Web Mail Password. This is the actual email password that you’re using outside QuickBooks. (e.g. Gmail password, Yahoo password, etc).

Hello everyone, thank you for reaching out to us here in the Community page.
I'm here to help you access your email and send transactions successfully.
If you're using Gmail, gmail maybe blocking sign-in attempts to your google account. You'll need to enable access to less secure apps and turn off 2-step verification for QuickBooks to have the right permissions to send emails using your gmail account.
If you're using Yahoo! Mail, yahoo mail has recently implemented a 2-step verification process. This generates a random password that must be entered into QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) when it prompts for a password when sending emails. You may also need to allow access for less secure apps.
If you're using AOL, aol has required you to generate and use an app password if you were going to access it via third-party email app and uses 2-step verification to avoid getting an error.
If you're using QuickBooks in RightNetworks, sign in to the website of your email provider and complete the MFA request in RightNetworks. If a browser is not available, contact RightNetwrokks and ask for it to be added to your desktop. For the users with anti-virus, check with the developer of the anti-virus for instructions on how to allow information through Yahoo!, port 465 and Gmail, Hotmail, and other, port 587.
For the detailed instructions and steps, you may check this article: QuickBooks will not accept my web mail password.
Our doors are always open here in the Community page, feel free to drop a post if you have any other concerns. Have a good day!
I tried using my yahoo account password and its still telling me its the wrong password. This is a ridiculous setting that I never enabled.
Hello there, Bradtully.
After trying the steps my colleague provided, I suggest contacting our QuickBooks Technical Support to have this investigated further. A phone agent has more tools that can help you to check why it's still not accepting your webmail password.
Here's how to contact them:
Of course, you're always welcome to post if you have other concerns.
