"We're fetching your data".... and it never loads.

Internet speeds are great.  All other websites work fine.  But QB SE just gives me the spinning progress wheel and doesn't allow me to select anything else. Closing and reloading the page doesn't fix anything. Using either Safari or Chrome doesn't fix it. QB are you facing technical difficulties?

"We're fetching your data".... and it never loads.

I appreciate you bringing this to our attention, adams-paybills-g.

I've got the steps to resolve the error in accessing your data. This could be a browser-related issue. The stored cache can affect the performance of the program which can cause unexpected behavior.

I'd suggest logging in to your QuickBooks Self-Employed account via a private window. This doesn't use the existing cache files, which makes it a good place to determine if there's an issue with the browser.

Here are the keyboard shortcuts:

  • Safari: Command + Shift + N
  • Google Chrome: CTRL + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox or Microsoft Edge: CTRL + Shift + P

Once signed in, check if you're able to view your data. If you're able to do so, let's clear the cache of your browser. This helps remove its stored cache to ensure QuickBooks will perform efficiently.

In case private browsing doesn't work, I'd recommend using different browsers. They'll provide you the best and most secure experience with QuickBooks. For more details, please see this article: System Requirements For QuickBooks.

If none of these fixes the problem, I encourage reaching out to our QuickBooks Support Team. They can take a closer look at your situation and investigate this further.

  1. Click the Help (?) icon at the top.
  2. On the Assistant tab, click Talk to a human.
  3. Enter your issue or question on the Type something field, then click the send icon.
  4. Choose I still need a human.
  5. Select Get help from a human.
  6. You can either select the Chat with us or Have us call you option.

Additionally,  I've included our QuickBooks Self-Employed Overview for reference. From there, you're able to see how the program helps you track everything throughout the year.

I'm still here if you need help in managing your QuickBooks Self-Employed account. Just post your questions here, I'll respond as soon as possible. Keep safe.

I am having this same problem and it never loads. I have spent hours with Intuit support and was even convinced to upgrade to 2023. It still doesn't work. I have been using QB for over 10 years now and have never had this problem before.  Please help or advise if you have fixed it.

The clear cache did not work for me.

Hi there, @shawanna07. I'm here to help get rid of the error so you'll be able to work with QuickBooks seamlessly.

To start, could you tell me the exact place where you see the error message? That information is a great help so I can provide an accurate resolution.

Also, based on your statement it seems that you're using QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT). The steps provided by my colleague in this thread are for QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE).

To avoid issues when accessing the program, let's ensure that your QuickBooks is updated to the latest release to have the latest components and fixes. You also need to make sure that your computer meets the minimum requirements to run it.

However, if you still encounter the same thing, you can run the Quick Fix my Program tool in QuickBooks Tool Hub.

If this does not work, you can suppress your QBDT application. This is to determine if the issue is within the program or in your data file. Here's how:

  1. Press and hold the Ctrl key on your keyboard.
  2. Then, double-click the QuickBooks Desktop icon (don't release the Ctrl key until you see the "No Company Open" window unless QuickBooks freezes or gives you an error).
  3. Next, select a company file, then click Open.

If the issue persists, proceed to Solution 3 of this article: QuickBooks Desktop doesn't start or won't open.

Let me know details on how this goes. If you have additional concerns about running your QBDT program, feel free to post again here. I'm always here ready to help. Have a good one.

"We're fetching your data".... and it never loads.

Thank you for helping me. I did try all of the steps and I am still getting same error.

When I click on Bankfeeds, it says "Sit tight, we are fetching your bank data" and then it continually spins like it's thinking, but nothing ever loads. I thought upgrading to 2023 would help, but I am still having the same problem. Oddly enough, I can open up one of my other company files and Bankfeeds opens easily.

Hi there, shawanna07.

I appreciate you following the solution provided by my peer and sharing the outcome. Let's deactivate and reactivate the online banking connection to fix the issue.

Before we begin, create a backup copy of the company file to keep a record of your data. Next, match or delete all of the downloaded transactions for the account. QuickBooks will not allow you to make changes if there are still pending transactions. After that, proceed with the steps below to disable the bank feeds.

Here's how:

  1. Open the company file you're working on, and head to the Lists menu at the top to choose Chart of Accounts.
  2. Right-click beside the account you want to turn off.
  3. Click the Edit Account option.
  4. Go to the Bank Feed Settings tab and tick the radio button for Deactivate all online services.
  5. Click OK and then Save & Close.

When you're ready, reactivate the bank account in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT). You can also use this resource if you encounter any online banking errors: Fix OL and OLSU Bank Feeds errors in QuickBooks Desktop.

This link also contains resources that will help you handle any banking-related activities in QBDT. It covers topics such as categorizing downloaded data, reconciling an account, and making deposits, to name a few.

Reach out to me again if you require further information about the solution I provided or have any QuickBooks concerns. I'll get back to help and make sure you're taken care of. Have a good one.

I am having a similar issue.  However, I cannot deactivate the online services as there are downloaded transactions that have not been downloaded to the register.  I need to get to bank feeds to clear those transactions but can't get to bank feeds.

I tried to clear the cache for the browser, but that didn't seem to work.  So I rebooted the computer to clear everything.  That seemed to work as I can now get the bank feeds to open.

I've gotten the same error for over 2 weeks and have talked to many different technicians and they've blamed it on the bank and then blamed it on Microsoft.  The problem still isn't solved.

Out of curiosity, is it a hardware thing?  What is the processor each of you have on your computers?

"We're fetching your data".... and it never loads.

Hello, lt.

There are times when the browser we're using has information stored that's stopping or causing this error.

I've got some steps to help fix this issue. If we're using QuickBooks Online or Self Employed, let's try accessing our account using a private browser. We can use either of these keyboard shortcuts:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: Command + Shift + N
  •

If this works, we can clear your regular browser's cache so the system can start fresh. But if we get the same results while using a private browser, use a different browser app instead.

If we're using a QBDT product, we can run the verify rebuild utility tool. This scans your company file for potential errors and promptly corrects them. I'll show you how.

  1. Go to the File menu.
  2. Select Utilities.
  3. Click Verify Data then select OK to close all windows.
  4. Then, go back to the File menu.
  5. Select Rebuild Data under Utilities.
  6. QuickBooks will ask you to make a backup before rebuilding your company file, select OK.
  7. Once the rebuild is done, click OK.

Lastly, I've also included this reference for a compilation of articles you can use while working with us:

Please keep in touch with me here on how it goes after trying out the steps above. I need to make sure you're able to get rid of this error. I'll be around to help if you need further assistance with anything in QuickBooks. Have a great rest of your day!
