When some price rules are applied (e.g. 8% discount), the price for some items extends 4 digits past the decimal. How do I round all prices to the nearest penny?

The option to round the price of all your items isn't available. I'll take note of your idea and share it with our engineers. For now, there are certain numbers that we can choose to round the prices. You can select either .25, .50, 1.00, or etc. 

You can see this option under the Rounding section. Here's how:

1. In the Price rules page, click New price rule.
2. Go to the Rounding field.
3. Select one.
4. Click Apply.
5. Modify the necessary fields.
6. Click Save and close.

Yes, there are options to round prices to the nearest .05 (and up - .10, .25, etc.), but it would be extremely helpful if I could set QBO to round prices to the nearest .01. And it seems like this would be a very easy fix. 

In the meantime, we are having to manually adjust prices to .XX; however, QBO has a habit of changing the prices back to .XXXX after the orders have been processed. IT creates a lot of confusion for customers and a headache for our accounting department.

I'm having the same problem. If there isn't an option to round to the nearest penny, is there a way to truncate the extra two significant digits after the decimal place in price rates on invoice forms? For example, say "$14.21" instead of "$14.2173" ?

Yes, you can open the invoice and manually adjust prices to the extra two significant digits after the decimal. Let me guide you on how to do it.

Here’s how:

1. Open the Invoice.
2. Adjust the amount you want.
3. Hit Save, then click Yes, if you receive a prompt message

Thank you for the reply. Is there a way to adjust the formatting of the invoices universally to feature only two significant digits after the decimal point in prices, instead of manually editing every single invoice line item or % discount calculated product price level? We have product MSRP's for product prices, then wholesale % discounts as price levels tethered to those. We don't want to manually update thousands of product price level entries every time we update MSRP's for product prices.

I know how important it is to have control over your invoice prices. However, the option to do so is currently unavailable in QuickBooks Online.

The decimal point is set as default in the program. As a workaround, you'll need to manually open the transaction and adjust the prices to the extra two significant digits after the decimal. You can follow the steps provided by my peer above.

I'll take note of this and add it to our lists of proposals. While that feature isn’t currently in our development roadmap, we are working on big improvements that will be helpful for the majority of our customers, and you’ll see those rolling out soon through our QuickBooks Blog.
