Why are my invoices that I save as a PDF changing when I email them? They are all garbled up

They save as PDFs and look fine on my computer but when emailed to customer through outlook as a PDF, they are garbled

To clarify, is this happening to all of your customers or only one? Is this happening with one particular invoice or all invoices? I also wanted to check if this only happens to invoices?

Why are my invoices that I save as a PDF changing when I email them? They are all garbled up

The invoices are messed up to anyone I send them to. We work on a server at our office, but when I save them to a file on the server or when I email them directly through QBO, they are messed up.

I attached a screen shot of what the invoices look like.  There are not any error messages when I send the emails through QBO, but they do take a long time to arrive.

It seems that the screenshot was not successfully added to your reply. I’ll walk you through the steps of attaching images to this thread so we can further check your concern. Here’s how:

 

  1. Click the Reply button to add a reply.
  2. From the Toolbar, select Photos button to add the screenshot. Then, click Choose Files.
  3. Select the Folder where you saved the photo.
  4. Click the Photo and select Open.
  5. Wait for the file to be uploaded. Then click Done.

I am not sure that worked either.  When I click on the photos tab above, it asks me for description of the photo and the measurements.  It doesn't follow the same steps as you sent me.  I can click the choose file below and attach the screen shot or the PDF I made of the screen shot, but that doesn't seem to get to you.  I don't typically have issues attaching things to documents.  Not sure what the problem is.

Thanks for getting back to us, @msalamone-buholt. Allow me to chime in and help you attach the screenshot of your invoice.

 

It looks like the screenshot you've attached is corrupt. That's why we're unable to view it in the Community space. To sort this out, review the file and access your Community account using other supported browsers like Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Safari, and Microsoft Edge. 

 

From there, send the file again using the Choose file option. This way, we can also verify if it's a browser issue. For more details on the supported browsers, check out this article: System requirements for QuickBooks Online, Accountant, and QuickBooks Self-Employed.

 

Also, to delete browser cache and Intuit-specific cookies, you can follow the steps in this article: Clear cache and cookies to fix issues when using QuickBooks Online. Then, restart your browser right after.

Thank you for that information.  I was able to go in and add intuit.com to allow cookies and this did the trick.
