I concur.

I've been waiting more than a week for a call from a supervisor and there is no end in sight.

Why is Intuit’s/QuickBooks customer service so bad?

Can't install QuickBooks Pro 2022!  We paid an outside IT guy for 3+ hours Friday night.  I was on the phone with customer support for 3hrs and 15minutes yesterday.  They ended the call with, "Sorry, you seem to have issues with Windows and we can't help you."

WHAT - I upgraded to 2022 (because I HAD TO!)... I've had nothing but issues with it.  (I have it on my desktop and 1 other PC).  BUT - I need it on another PC.  That PC is much newer, Windows 10 Pro with all windows updates and we can't install it!

I've used QuickBooks for 20-ish years?  I'm ready to look at Peachtree or something else.  Any suggestions?  They MAKE you upgrade every 3 years.  This latest version WAS NOT READY! NOT! I HATE 2022... Nothing but issues.

I handle most of our network and computer issues.  Although, I've been busier lately.  So, I do utilize an outside, certified IT person.  After his 3+ hours Friday night, My 3++ hours yesterday... And we've done EVERYTHING QuickBooks told us to. Anyway, the outside IT person came back yesterday.  He worked from 5pm - 10pm to get us up and running.  NOTHING!

MSI Error 1603... YES, WE'VE READ EVERYTHING.  They had me uninstall 2019, re-download the QuickBooks program (5 times).  UNINSTALLED & RE-INSTALLED ALL THE C++ Files, the .Net files.  We've done everything in their suggestion list and on the phone call.  (And btw - QuickBooks Tool Hub repairs the XML and the C++ anyway!  But they wanted us to do it, so we did.)

And after they told me, "Sorry, you have an issue with Windows and we can't help you".  WAIT - I'm on Windows 10 Pro, I meet the specifications and "I have an issue"?  Maybe I need a true IT person... OKAY, I've paid him 8+ hours and still nothing.  SO, NO QUICKBOOKS, YOU HAVE AN ISSUE.

AND AFTER they told me "I" had a Windows issue... I was easily able to install QuickBooks Pro 2019 on that PC.  AND NO ISSUES! (Problem is, we can’t use online banking or payroll with the, now “expired” version. Grrr.)

By the way, the person I spoke to yesterday was very nice... BUT, they will NOT give you to a Tier 2 or Tier 3 person.  You get whomever answers the phone and if it is outside of their knowledge... YOU DON'T GET ANYBODY ELSE.

Very disappointed with QuickBooks AND service and upgrades continue to be a bigger problem every year.  (I've had so many issues with the 2022 version we have installed on 2 PC's... it's ridiculous.)  We have a smaller company file that runs on the other PC... WHICH we can't get to work.  FRUSTRATED!

@Missgoode2shews1

Consider to install the trial version for QBD 2021. If successful, you can still purchase a one-time license for it and request a refund for your QBD 2022 license within 60 days of purchase. If you need external help to install, find anyone who can install QB and only pay if the program runs.

I haven't read through all your posts... BUT, there is a company that can reduce your file size.  They were awesome.  (I had them purge information older than 8-10 years).

We used them last March.  They were great.  It's called a supercondense.  E-Tech LLC.  I tried to post the website, but that's not allowed in the QuickBooks Community.  Anyway, look up etechcorporation.

Look at their website, they do a lot with QuickBooks. (Repair, condense, etc.)

Thank you, I appreciate that.  Just to give you a little more information, when I was told there was no solution, I requested a supervisor. (It took 20 minutes just to get an okay that somebody would call me.)  When I spoke with him, I added our IT contractor in on the call.  The supervisor's response was. "I think he'll be able to get you going".  NO! That was another 5+ contracted hours with no solution!  The supervisor emailed some links… ONCE AGAIN, on how to reinstall C++ and the net framework.  We'd done all that already! 5 times! (And by the way brilliant minds, it reinstalls most of that with QuickBooks Tool Hub!) The supervisor's solution was for us to spend more money with a Contractor to get the flawed product installed.  It didn't work. Yesterday, the IT contractor replied to the supervisor’s email and outlined everything we'd done to resolve the issue.  He asked for a return call.  OBVIOUSLY - We never got a call!  And, the supervisor emailed from the generic “QBO we don’t care support” email.  He didn’t leave any way for a follow up directly to him or anyone else.=.  I asked on the call what we could do if we continue to have these issues… He said just to call the regular support line.  Did that already! I don’t even think they can transfer a call when the issue needs to be escalated.  No one replied to the email he sent!  So aggravating that we're "made" to purchase a product, that we don't even want and it’s so flawed we can’t get it to install.  (Btw-The IT guy tried to download and install at home to see if he had the same issues, he did!  So the latest download doesn’t work with an updated version of Windows).

There is no support these days anyway... I wish QuickBooks would just quit cutting off my banking and payroll.  I'd rather pay a fee NOT to upgrade!  We probably owe the contractor 12 - 15 hours by now.  That's not cheap AND we shouldn't have had to spend that money to install a product that should work with Windows 10!  It's ridiculous, but that's not even the most ridiculous thing! Not EVEN.

I searched the community yesterday and found something we hadn't tried.  I should’ve started it myself but I was too frustrated.  So, I texted the IT person a screen shot of the post that said “reinstalled VC_redist.x64.exe”.

That WORKED! How is it that QuickBooks doesn't know the solution? How is it I had to spend 3+ hours on the phone with Support and NO Solution was found.  And why do I have to pay a contractor for 12 - 15 hours to resolve an issue with QuickBooks… when QuickBooks can’t figure out their own issue?

I’ll look for the solution in the community again and star it. (The pic I have is only of the reply from user Testa1 that says reinstalling that file worked.) I hope you guys mark it as a resolution AND by all means, tell your support team.

Why is Intuit’s/QuickBooks customer service so bad?

I want to add my experience to this thread. I have someone try to scam me, let QuickBooks customer service know what was going on. And then out of now where my merchant account was shut down while I have over 8k in invoices ready to be paid. All without notice. I figured it out while in the merchant section and it said account closed. I asked them about it and then quickly got an email about my merchant account being shut down and can’t accept payments. All while I was trying to pay QuickBooks the money.

i was told in that email that shutting down my account was a business decision. That the back end team would get in touch with me. I called a couple times and transferred to someone else. Just a circle of not my job pass off kind of crap. A month later, I get an email about my merchant account being open again. And never was contacted by anyone for an explanation. I already have different account software. Because of how that entire sh!t storm was handled. What do we pay all these fees for anyways?

small business is in the process of dying anyways. That’s why Walmart and Amazon are in favor of the min wage increase. Covid was just another money transfer.

Why is Intuit’s/QuickBooks customer service so bad?

Wanted to share my customer experience.

I reached out via chat to sign up for QBO and Live Bookkeeping.  The sales person made and error and created a new account using my personal email. I responded immediately requesting this be changed to my business account that is already established.  The sales persons response was this is not an issue and will be resolved once you login and change your email ID.  She connected me with a customer service rep to assist in the migration from desktop to online.  This person had me migrate to my business account.  The sales person had the sign up emails forwarded (still not corrected to my business account)to my business email where I then setup a live bookkeeping session for the following day.  After spending almost 2 hours with the bookkeeper on a screen share we could not overcome the fact that the sales person had attached the subscription for QBO and Bookkeeping live to the wrong account.  We could not move forward as I could not see the bookkeepers requests for documents.  From here I reached back out to the sales person and then the support phone number.  The sales person was not helpful.  The support person canceled the QBO subscription from the new account created and added the subscription to my established business account.  This person however was unable to transfer the Bookkeeping live subscription and instructed me to call back and speak to someone else!  I called support and once again the person I was speaking with was nice but did not listen to or understand what I needed.  So I requested to cancel everything.  It took 43 minute phone call just to cancel.  This could have been resolved in the beginning if the sales person had listened to my request to change the account. Or the support person that helped me migrate my company file understood.

Another great interaction with QB-they insist the email is wrong but it is not. And of course they are so inflexible they cannot help.
And apparently "Kimberly" does not need to give me a supervisor name and number-how do they get away with this. How many Kimberleys do you suppose work for QB

This is our case id: 1590647060 which has my name on it. You can use that as a reference for this chat"

We understand your frustration with getting this corrected, SharonH3.

We certainly don't have the intention to create unnecessary hurdles for you or your client.

Unfortunately, due to security reasons, we're unable to take action on your client's behalf, and they will need to be the ones to correct the email address in their account. Note that security and privacy are top priorities for Intuit.

We thank you for your understanding.

Spoiler
And a customer service rep can refuse to tell you their supervisor name and contact?
And is there a reason you cannot add a second email to an accountants account-what could that be--you of course are not understanding the question because it suits you to not understand.
Answer just those two questions.

Why is Intuit’s/QuickBooks customer service so bad?

All I want to do is add a user. My remote desktop provider said I need to go through Intuit and gave me the service number. I got only a digital voice which was a waste of time and texted me a link to use. When I punched in the link I got "Why is Intuit Quickbooks customer service so bad?" I would love to answer but I can confirm it is the worst I have dealt with lately.

How can I add a user?

This is the same exact canned response we get for every problem. Our engineers are working hard to correct this internal issue. My accountant is having payroll issues on my quickbooks and one of my clients is struggling with his quickbooks because I can no longer see invoice details and cannot edit or send them out for him. Both cases are ongoing for days and in both cases we are losing money sitting on the phone with quickbooks instead of being able to work and send out invoices and payroll. In both cases, we are just told the engineers are working hard on this. FIX THIS or we need to find a program that works.

Last night I spent over an hour on the phone and my problem is still not resolved. Worse yet, when I try to process my state W2s, it pulls up 2014. The customer service agent could not get off the phone fast enough and said a supervisor would call me Monday. WTF???

I don't understand that while you are logged in.  You can't just open a chat to support without having to copy your company ID, email and name.  And then when you get sent to someone else you have to give them your ID, email and name again.  And so on and so on.  And you have to repeat everything you said to the first person. It's incredibly pathetic.

Why is Intuit’s/QuickBooks customer service so bad?

I purchased the online version that cost 160 dollars for the first year.  I was told that  one my desktop info was transferred, I could still do the work on my desktop.  But I keep getting a message that it is no longer available and I need to send them up to 900 dollars to update it.

I can't get any answeres from the guy that sold me this crap and I can't enter my data into the quickbooks
