Thanks for reaching out to us. I'm here to assist you with your concern about the printing 1099-NEC, FPCFPC.
First, let's make sure to download the latest QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) release to have the recent features and patches.
To confirm which release you have, press the F2 button when logged in to QuickBooks. This opens the Product Information screen. Look at the release version extension. It'll be the underscore and a number:
If your product information shows the release version and extension for your product year above or higher, you’re good to go and have the capability to print the 3-part 1099 forms. If your product release and version are lower than those listed, you’ll need to update your QuickBooks.
Once verified, you'll have to perform reset updates in QuickBooks.
Please refer to this article to learn what to do: Print 3-part 1099s in QuickBooks Desktop. It has instructions to help check the printing format.
If you're still unable to print 3-part 1099s, I recommend contacting our QuickBooks Desktop Team. They can create a case again to investigate the issue.
Here's how:
I'm also adding this link to help submit 1099s: Create and file 1099s with QuickBooks Desktop. It includes what and when you need to report and check the status after filing the form.
Let me know how else I can help you with QuickBooks by adding a comment below. I'm more than happy to lend a helping hand.
I tried that but it still will only print two 1099 forms per page.
NOW WHAT? These forms are due in just a few days.
WHAT DO I DO??
PLEASE HELP ... I HAVE PAID A LOT OF MONEY TO INTUIT OVER THE DECADES (more than 20 years I have been using your software).
You must resolve this immediately!!!
This may not be an easy process for you, FPCFPC.
And, I want to make sure you're able to print 3-part 1099s in QuickBooks. Since you've already had the latest release, I recommend contacting our QuickBooks Desktop Live Team.

Run your Quickbooks as Administrator, the do the updates as all the article instruct to do. It should work after that. If you don't know how to run it as Administrator, left click on your icon before opening and choose "Run as Administrator" once it opens, then go to Update my Quickbooks and follow the instructions that has been given before about choosing All, click reset updates etc.
Please tell people to run their Quickbooks as Administrator then do the updates. This worked for me!

I updated to the 2022 version of QB Enterprise desktop and my 1099 NEC forms are still printing two forms per page. How do I get it to print correctly?
nice try it doesn't work
Got any other ideas? I'm logged in as the admin, did the updates, and still nothing.
Hello, Heidi G.
I'd like to add some additional steps to help you print the 3 part form for 1099 NEC.
If you haven't tried resetting the update, here's how to do it:
When the download finishes, please restart QuickBooks and you get a prompt, accept the option to install the new release.
Once done, try to print your 1099 form again by following these steps:
I've got this article for reference: Print your 1099 forms.
Otherwise, try the other solutions shared in this article: Print 3-part 1099s in QuickBooks Desktop. If none of the steps work, please contact our Customer Care Team. They can review your 1099 setup and investigate the issue further.
Please take note that our support hours for QuickBooks Desktop Basic, Enhanced, or Standard Payroll, starts from M-F 6 AM to 6 PM PT. For the Assisted Payroll version, we're available any time, any day.

I discovered that just exiting and re-entering QB was not enough for the update to 'take'. I had to restart my PC.
But...then a secondary issue arose where for my 1099 vendors instead of the NEC going to Box1 it went to State Witholding (Box15) and I couldn't remap (it was greyed out). I ended up changing the account on all the eligible checks to a temp account, mapped that to NEC/Box 1, printed 1099s and then put the accounts back to what they were supposed to be. Very frustrating and incredibly time consuming! I spent nearly 2 hours to print 2 1099s which in past years would not take more than 15 minutes!
restart your computer. Update won't 'take' otherwise. That was my experience.
Just found a fix on two separate Quickbook files.
After you do the updates as suggested , REBOOT the computer the program is on, including if on a server, do not just exit Quickbooks. It seems that when this is done the updates take place but may also wipe out the account mapping for the NEC 1099s and sets some up for MISC 1099s.
Reopen and go to Print 1099s. For 1099 NEC When you get to mapping accounts it may show all are omitted.
You have to remap everything. If it is showing as a line on 1099 MISC you need to go out and start with 1099 MISC. Change all mapping of account to Omit from 1099, save and close. Then go back to 1099 NEC and map the accounts you want reported. Save and Close
Reopen and go through process to make sure all is correct, then print. Look at preview and pray that there are three to a page.
GOOD LUCK
This did not work for me. I just purchased 2022 Desktop Pro and it is still showing 2020 forms. I have downloaded the critical fixes, logged out of QB and logged back in, and I still get the old 2-up form. The deadline is fast approaching and I still can't print the proper forms. What's up?
Thanks for joining us here, @Sherry E.
I have some information about creating the 1099-MISC form. in QuickBooks, you'll want to restart your computer to refresh the program. After that, try creating the form again.
If you're getting the same result, perform uninstall and clean install. This process help fix company file issues. A clean install won’t affect your data at all. See this article for the steps: Clean install QuickBooks Desktop.
After performing the clean installation, create and print the form again. Here's your guide: Print 3-part 1099s in QuickBooks Desktop.
Reach out to us if you're still unable to print so we can investigate further.
Here's how you can contact us:
Please let me know how it goes after trying the steps, as I want to ensure this is resolved for you. Take care and have a good one.
I bought QB desktop pro 2022 because my of 2018 version could not print 1099-NEC's in the new 3 to a page format. I've done all the updates and the ToolHub Print and PDF Repair tool.
I STILL CANNOT PRINT THE 1099-NEC IN 3 PART FORM!!
What the he** am I supposed to do now?!>
Hi @willows.
I’m here to help make sure we get your QuickBooks updated so that you can print 3 per page 1099s. We’ll want to make sure that you’ve updated to the current release for your product.
To confirm which release you have, hit the F2 button when logged in to QuickBooks, this opens the Product Information screen, look at the release version extension...it'll be the underscore and a number.
QB 2022 R3_(71+)
If your product release and version is lower than those listed, you’ll need to update your QuickBooks. It’s important to make sure to update QuickBooks to the latest release. A few things to check before we try updating:
Next:
When the update finishes, close and reopen QuickBooks Desktop. To install the updates, select Yes.
When the install finishes, restart your computer.
Let’s press F2 once more to confirm you have the latest release for your version of QuickBooks, if so, you’ll have the option to print the 3 per page 1099s.
Let me know how it goes. I want to be sure we get you up and running.
I followed the steps as you directed. I updated from version 65 to 78. It skipped 71. It wiped out all changes I had made to map the appropriate categories. Now the default on the NEC form in the 'Apply payments to this 1099 box', on the mapping screen, has everything defaulted to MIX Box 15: State tax withheld. The down arrow to change the selection is grayed out and thus the selection cannot be changed. Please advise next steps.
Additionally, I tried to print 1099 MISC. I had to re-map, etc. And STILL it is only going to print 2 copies per page. The update took me to R3_78.
I have been at this for HOURS! I even went to Office Max and got the new QuickBooks! I have restarted, updated, checked all, including Critical --it ONLY is doing 2 vouchers per page!!! I even bought more 1099-NEC, to be sure I had the "right ones". I will try again tomorrow --I am so FRUSTRATED!!!
Thanks QB guru team.
Could you advise the solution for QB Premier Nonprofit 2018?
