Hello there, PLCtreas.
I recognize your concern about the status of the 1099 forms for your contractors in QuickBooks Online (QBO). Ensuring that these tax forms have been sent out correctly and received by the intended recipients is crucial.
When you utilize our e-file service, we'll ensure your 1099 forms are promptly mailed to your contractors. By January 31, they'll receive the forms at the addresses specified in their profiles.
Contractors will be emailed once the IRS accepts the 1099s, informing them that their 1099 is now available for viewing. Let me share the steps on how to see the forms:

This is a frustrating response. Even though QBOL says that the status is "Emailed, mailed," my contractors have not received an email saying that their 1099 was accepted by the IRS and inviting them to view it. Nor have they received anything via USPS mail. My question was "how can I confirm that the 1099s were accepted and approved by the IRS, then actually mailed?" Who can I talk to or who can point me to info show the date of the acceptance or the date of the mailing? I need some data!
@Rasa-LilaM Perhaps you did not see my reply yesterday because I did not include your name. How can I get the data that shows when the 1099s were emailed and mailed to my contractors?
Second question: Can I provide my contractors with the link to the forms, or just print them out and send them to the contractors? What is safe to do?
Hi there, PLCtreas.
Allow me to join the thread and provide information on when will your contractors receive a copy of their 1099 form.
All 1099 forms are mailed by January 31 to the residential address in the contractor's profile. However, if your contractor hasn't received their 1099 form within 7 business days after January 31, you may print their 1099 form using these steps:
On the other hand, if you invite your contractor to enter their W9 info, they can create a QuickBooks Self-Employed account for free. This way, they can view the 1099 form after filing them and they'll get an email when it's ready. Once ready, they can go to the Clients menu and select the Forms tab to view your 1099-MISC. For more details, check out this article: Fill out a W-9 and view your 1099-MISC in QuickBooks Self-Employed.
