W2c's

Quickbooks filed W2's for all of my employee's even though the payroll service had been canceled after the third Quarter.  It has been a nightmare trying to get a response on when they will file W2c's.  First email stated 20 to 30 days.  Multiple phone calls have been bounced around to inept call centers and almost 40 days later there has still been no resolution.  Has anyone had a similar experience and can anyone suggest a way to expedite this.  Senior employees federal benefits are being affected at this point.

Thank you for any helpful responses,

Hello, @mwnmwn1110. I want you to have a better experience than this. Let me share some information about filing W-2 forms in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

When you cancel your payroll subscription, you'll need to decide how to pay and file your payroll taxes.

If you've enabled the Automate payroll taxes and forms option, you can request us to process your final payments and filings. However, please note that charges may apply. If you prefer to handle your taxes yourself, you can contact our payroll support team for assistance.

If the option is turned off, you can handle your final payments and filings yourself. You can print your forms and submit them directly to the IRS and state agencies along with your tax payments. Ensure to record the tax payments in QB.

For your reference, you can visit this article: Close business and finish payroll tasks.

Additionally, who files your W-2s and when depends on your automated taxes and forms selection.

  • If automated taxes and forms are on, that means we’ll do it for you automatically shortly after January 1.
  • If automated taxes and forms are off, you can file them yourself electronically through QuickBooks on or after January 1.

Here's how to check your automated taxes and forms selection:

  1. Go to the Gear icon, then choose Payroll Settings
  2. Under Taxes and forms, select Edit

For more detailed information, you can refer to this article: Understand the timing for your W-2s.

Moreover, I recommend reaching out to our support team again as they have the necessary tools to conduct a thorough investigation.

Should you have any follow-up concerns regarding filing W-2 forms, feel free to reply on this thread. We're here to help in any way we can.

Jean,

Thank you for your response.  It would have been helpful if this information was provided at the time we canceled the payroll service.  Since it was not and these actions were not taken Quickbooks filed duplicate W2's for all of our employees.  These employees now cannot file their taxes and those that are senior citizens are having federal benefits revoked because their income has been reported as doubled.  I have spent countless minutes on the phone with your support department and have receive no help at all.  I was actually told that your Payroll Amendment Team was not a customer facing department so there was no-one that I could speak with directly.  To be honest, as A former V.P. of Operations for a Nation Company this response is deplorable.  Everyone who works for Intuit should be considered customer facing because without customers you would not exist?

Below is the latest response from your support team:

Dear Mark Norberg,

I hope this email finds you well. I wanted to follow up on the support ticket you opened regarding tax amendment to void/zero out the W2 submitted on the account. Our team is still working to fix the file or form on the account since we encountered problem to void the W2, as of now I am working with our Payroll Amendment Team to complete the amendment as soon as possible. I will send another follow email once I have an update from them.

With Service and Care,

Intuit QuickBooks Online

I'm not sure how difficult it is to void 15 W2's but it certainly should not take over a month?

Is there not any way to resolve this in a timely manner so that all of my employees do not have to file extensions?
