Thanks for using QuickBooks Online (QBO), @andiie46. I have all the steps to help you undo your reconciliation.

You can undo a reconciled transaction individually. If you need to start over, I'd suggest reaching out to your accountant so they can undo the entire period at once using QuickBooks Online Accountant.

All you have to do is invite them first. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon in the upper-right corner, and select Manage Users.
  2. From the Accounting Firms tab, enter the accountant's email/information.

  3. Click the Invite button and follow the instructions to proceed.
  4. Once done, let your accountant undo the entire reconciliation.

If you want to do it manually, follow these steps to undo reconciled transactions one at a time:

  1. From the Gear icon, select Chart of Accounts.
  2. Find the account and click View Register.
  3. You can filter the register to help you focus on reconciled transactions.
  4. Review the check column. If the transaction is reconciled, you’ll see an “R.”
  5. Please select the box and keep clicking it until it's blank. It removes the transaction from the reconciliation.

  6. Hit Save and close your register.
