If you're going to charge thousands of dollars for this, can you at least make it work!

Open your company file and press CTRL+1 to find your license code and log into your CAMPS account. Are you using the same license code? Also check your license expiration date on CAMPS to be sure.

I completely understand your frustration regarding the subscription issue you've described, @arlinghaus. I'm here to help you resolve this matter.

If a prompt shows that your QuickBooks Desktop subscription has lapsed or expired, we can update your billing info in your Customer Account Management (CAMPs) portal. You can also follow Fiat Lux - ASIA's suggestion to find the code to access your CAMPS account.

Here's how:

  1. Sign in to the Customer Account Management Portal (CAMPs) as an admin user.
  2. Choose QuickBooks Desktop from your products and services.
  3. Select details next to your QuickBooks Product.
  4. Click Edit beside your Payment Method
  5. Update your payment info and then click Save and Close.
  6. Open QuickBooks Desktop.
  7. Proceed to the Help menu and hover over Manage My License.
  8. Lastly, choose Sync License Data Online.

If the issue persists, Install the latest update for your version of QuickBooks Desktop. This often fixes subscription errors and ensures you have the latest features and fixes. You can also review this article for more insights: Fix subscription has lapsed error.

I'm also adding this link to help take control of your QuickBooks Desktop subscriptions and services: Manage your QBDT subscriptions and services.

Please don't hesitate to reach out to us again. Your satisfaction is of the utmost importance to us, and we're here to support you throughout this process.

Apparently Intuit keeps track of how many times you go in/out of the software, and if you go in/out more times than they think you should, they cut you off and just say your subscription expired.

After getting the usual run-around with off-shore support, they elevated my case. They called me back to say that I had "too many uses" and they reset me to Zero so I should be good to go now!

I supposedly had less uses than one per weekday... and that's too many?

They sure know how to make people want to abandon their BS.

Thanks @Rubielyn_J, but I had tried all that to no avail.

And of course, no front-line employees have ever heard of this... only the upper support.
