Can Quickbooks actually get someone on the phone who knows the product?

Can Quickbooks actually get someone on the phone who knows the product?

I literally have tried ALL afternoon to get help... My question is how can you recategorize all line items on a PAID bill???  I had to change 26 of them one by one today bc the user had used the wrong expense acct.

I've replied once already, asking my specific question but this is along the lines of not being able to get anyone there to help.  The situation is that this company I'm working with hired a proadvisor with a local company who just half A$$ job of transitioning them from desktop to online.  They have online plus.  Beginning balances weren't all put in, chart of accounts is a MESS, the proadvisor will not return any emails or calls despite her company being paid monthly.  Im not understanding how intuit would allow someone like this to be a proadvisor??  

 

They are just now reconciling sept-nov bank statements, we've got COA to clean up, begin balances to put in, and various other things.  Who can I get to help me figure out what order to do things in???  I have about  16 years having worked as a financial systems software consultant or analyst, yet i've never used QB so I'm scrambling to learn it and plan on getting certified as proadvisor myself.  But we are in a time crunch and i need some HELP.  How can i get it?????

Our Proadvisors undergo training and tests before getting verified. I know how it feels when something important like this is being ignored. Let me help you.
 

We'll go over to the bills first. You can recategorize the accounts by opening the transaction. You'll have to open the bill one by one and classify the correct account. 
 

Then, with regards to the reconciliation of your account, the bank statement is always the source of truth. We'll have to ensure the balances are accurate. I'll share an article to help you: Fix issues for accounts you've reconciled in the past in QuickBooks Online.

 

Once everything looks good, you can reconcile the account.

The problems I have had since starting quickbooks are multiple. No body seems to know the product when I call both sales or the "experts." I keep getting transferred to other people and no one understands what the other one does. You have no tutorials and your products are not labeled properly, therefore I don't know what I am buying. 

 

Currently, I just need to know how to calculate my taxes using Simple Start. I am a self-employed sole proprietor. I don't do a W-2 or 1099. I was told quickbooks Simple Start does this. This seems like a basic function of your products that I would expect your "experts" to know since they have so much training. This isn't the case.

Thanks for the screenshot.

 

I can see that the transactions you're trying to recategorize have -Split- categories. This means they use an item/s or there are multiple categories in these transactions. Therefore, if you want to recategorize them, you'll want to open each of them and change the expense account in the Category details section or change the expense account assigned to the items.

I have two issues.  My chart of accounts "list" is scrambled, not in the correct order.  My second issue is my "checking account" is missing from the chart of accounts and it is not inactive.  I cannot transfer funds to checking as it does not appear as an option.  I have used QB for 25 years, I have never seen this happen.

Can someone help me please?

Let me share some information on how solve your chart of accounts concern. 

 

The default arrangement of your accounts in the Chart of Account is by Account Type. It will display first on the list all your Bank Accounts, then your Account Receivables account. You can change the sort order of accounts in the Chart of Accounts.

 

Just click the header of each column in the Chart of Accounts page. You can re-arrange it by Number, NameAccount Type, Detail TypeCurrencyQuickBooks Balance, and Bank Balance. This action will not affect your Profit and Loss report or your books.

 

With regards to your missing transaction, let's try logging into your QBO account using a private browser. There are times that the browser is full of frequently-accessed page resources, thus causing websites, like QuickBooks Online (QBO), to act uncharacteristically. Here's how you access a private browser.

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: Command + Option + P

 

If this works, it means that you need to clear your browser's cache so the system can start fresh. If you get the same result while using a private browser, I recommend switching to a different browser.
