Thank you for replying. I currently have 2019 but plan to purchase 2024 by the end of the year and make the switch to desktop for 2025.
Or can I use my current QB Pro 2019
You can only purchase QB Desktop 2024 Pro Plus/Premier Plus this month. After September, you can only purchase QB Desktop 2024/2025 Enterprise. If you prefer to use your old QB Desktop 2019, you need to purchase a 3rd party service to convert your data from QB Online.
If I purchase 2024 now can I just keep it on the side until I cancel QB Online after the New Year or does it matter if I start using Desktop and cancel Online now? I guess what I'm asking is, I don't want to lose my data that was entered in 2024 and not be able to do my year end accounting. Will the 2024 desktop version have all my online data?
You can purchase a new QB Desktop 2024 license now and convert your data next year when you're ready to move on. You can purchase it through a partner + you can get $100 cashback.
I tried what you suggested but it was of no help. From what I can see, I need to purchase a app for each company at $199 ea. Is this correct?
Have you tried to use the trial version of QB Desktop 2021 Pro to convert data from QB Online? You must buy a 3rd party conversion service if you want to use QB Desktop 2019.
Thanks for following up with the Community, frank120.
QuickBooks Pro Plus can be purchased as a subscription until September 30, 2024. After that date, Intuit will no longer be selling new subscriptions. You can purchase a plan on our Pricing page, or contact our Sales team to make purchases.
If you obtain a subscription for QuickBooks Pro Plus, you'll be able to continue renewing it after September 30, 2024. Only new subscription purchases will be discontinued. Security updates, product updates, and support will be available for existing subscribers.

I purchased 2024 Pro Plus and tried to follow your instructions to export my data but it just goes to an EXCEL file and not to my QB Desktop
Do you have QBO US version or another region?
yes qbo us
I cant get past the point where I download my .qbxml file then export it.
Install the trial version of QB Desktop 2021 and try converting your data again.
Can't download 2021, it just downloads 2024 which I already have. Do you have a link maybe?
You can contact @Fiat Lux - ASIA and ask them about it
There's no need to have QuickBooks Desktop 2021 to migrate your data from QuickBooks Online to QuickBooks Desktop, @frank120. Let me guide you through using the QuickBooks Desktop migration tool.
First off, please ensure that QuickBooks Desktop Pro Plus is already installed on your computer. If not, you can install it first. If you purchased it online, you can find the license number and product in your email. If you bought it at a retail store, the license and product numbers can be found on the box.
If you're done installing QuickBooks, you can proceed to Step 3 of the article. If the problem continues, you can reach out to our support team for assistance. They can conduct a screen-sharing session to ensure no steps were missed.
Furthermore, you may read through this material for future reference on how to find your company file or most recent backup in QuickBooks Desktop: Find QuickBooks company data files and backups.
I'm all ears if you need further assistance with migrating your data to QuickBooks Desktop. Don't hesitate to reach out. I'll always lend a hand.
That worked for the most part. The P&L do not match. I guess my only option at this point is to go through the imported info line by line which will take days or weeks.
OK my other company that I migrated went over and the P&L is exactly like QBO. Should I try the first one again?
Thank you for coming back to this thread, Frank120.
If you are referring to the first company that was unsuccessfully migrated to QuickBooks Desktop, then yes, you can attempt to export the data again.
If the issue persists, please contact our customer support team so they can investigate further into this matter.
Also, if this is about an unmatched Profit and Loss report, we can suggest comparing the Profit and Loss and Balance Sheet reports in QBO and QBDT. Additionally, it is important to review the transactions in the bank register to pinpoint the root cause of the discrepancy. These steps are essential to ensure the accuracy of your financial data.
We'll be waiting for your additional information, Frank120. This way, we can provide you with a more accurate solution to your concern.
Additionally, you can find many useful resources about using QuickBooks in our help article archives.
