Followed this all OK and it has said load the 6 diget code which should have been sent to my phone. Several attempts ad no code has been received
I understand you need to get the codes via the mobile number. @Newcs23. Instead of a phone number, let's use the email to obtain them.
Have you tried using another number? So we can identify if this is an issue within QuickBooks Online.
Additional rights granted to accountant users allow them to cancel reconciliations, reclassify transactions, and write off invoices. Moreover, if you have an email address, you can use them to get the verification code from QuickBooks Online.
Here's how:
Please check out this article as your reference: Add accountant users in QuickBooks Online. Removing an accountant is available on this page.
We are always ready to support and guide you through every task in QuickBooks Online. We are happy to serve you.
My page does not have an Invite button.
I have two accountant email addresses below. Is there a limit to the number?
Hello there, @donnagrein. I'm here to ensure you'll be able to invite your accountant to QuickBooks Online (QBO).
Yes, in QBO there's a limit to how many accountants you can add to your account depending on your subscription. Please refer below:
For reference, please check this article: Learn about usage limits in QuickBooks Online.
You can also check how many items you have for each usage limit by going to the Usage page. Here's how:
In case you need to remove your accountant, you can refer to this link for the detailed steps: Remove an accountant.
I'm just around the corner to help if you have any other concerns about inviting your accountant to QBO. Have a good one and stay safe.
There is no button on my Manage Users page that says Invite Accountant. All there is, is a button that says Add User. This is becoming frustrating.
I appreciate your time posting here, BM758.
I've come to ensure you're able to invite your accountant to QuickBooks Online (QBO).
To guide you with all the steps mentioned above when inviting an accountant to your account, I've provided a screenshot for your reference.
Here's how:
3. Click on the Accountants or Accounting firms tab.
4. Enter your accountant's email address and select Invite.
Once invited, your accountant will receive an email about the invitation. You'll know they accepted your request when the status from the Manage Users page shows as Active.
For more detailed information, you can visit this article: Add accountant users in QuickBooks Online.
Moreover, I'm adding this reference to guide you in processing and running your payroll: Create and run your payroll.
I'll always be right here if you need anything else with other QuickBooks tasks. Feel free to add them in the comments below. Take care!
I ensure you that I don't have an "Accounting Firms" or an "Accountant" tab in my Manage Users sections.
I further enquired about this through the QB Assistant and the info below is what was given. Through the method below I was able to send my accountant an invite. Not through the Accountant or Accounting Firms tab that I've been ensured is available on my account.
The instructions that I got from QB Assistant is as follows:
1. Select the Settings
2. Select Add User and Company admin.
3. Check This user is my accountant. Note: This step doesn't apply to Simple Start subscriptions.
4. Select Next.
5. Enter the accountant's name and email address, then Save.
An invitation email will be sent to your accountant.
I hope this helps anyone who was struggling like me to finally be able to invite their accountant.
I was having the same issue.
Try this method below to see if it works. It worked for me. I got this information through the QBO Assistant when you click on the help button on your account.
I was invited to join my company's QuickBooks Online Plus team.
I cannot log-in successfully; the message is "there is an issue on our end."
Please help me.
Hello there, @reybrz.
There's no need to worry. I'm here to ensure you can get through this and access QuickBooks Online (QBO) company. Before anything else, we'll want to rule out the possibility of having issues with the browser itself. Know that when a browser is full of temporary internet files or Cache and cookies, it can affect your browsing experience and sometimes lead to your operation getting stuck or stopping.
To get this fixed, you'll want to access your account in an incognito or private window. You can use the following shortcut keys to access an incognito browser:
Once you're in, try to access the invitation link. If it works and you're able to access the account, you can proceed to clear your browser's cache. Refer to this article for the steps: Clear cache and cookies to fix issues when using QuickBooks Online.
You can also use other compatible browsers if the issue persists. Refer to this article to see the list of compatible browsers in QuickBooks Online: Other browsers.
Now, if the issue persists. I'd recommend contacting our Customer Care Team, so they access the account in a secure environment and determine the root cause of the problem. See this article for more details: QuickBooks Online Support.
Moreover, here's an article to help you ensure data stays accurate inside the company file: Run reports in QuickBooks Online.
@reybrz, please don't hesitate to comment below if you need further assistance accessing QuickBooks or performing specific tasks inside the program. I'll be here, ready to help you out again. Stay safe, and have a nice day!
I've followed the directions and sent the invite to my accountant in QB, but she says she hasn't received it. I've confirmed her email and she's checked her spam box. How do I get her access? Thank you.
Thanks for following along with the thread and sharing your concerns, @ksg28205.
I have a few suggestions you can try so your accountant can see the invite.
First, let's double-check that your email is correct. We have seen before when invites don't go out that it's as simple as an incorrect email from the sender's end. I've included some steps to check your email below.
Now let's try to resend the invite:
If the email isn't being sent, you'll want to ensure that your accountant has an Intuit account. If the user doesn't have an Intuit Account, they should create an account with their desired email address. Although you've mentioned your accountant checked their spam folder, having an Intuit Account may help prevent the user invite email from getting flagged as spam.
That should do the trick. However, if for any reason, the invite has still not been sent, I recommend contacting our Support Team directly. This way, one of our agents can review your account in a secure environment and investigate this matter further.
Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. Take care!
After several attempts, the email invite comes through, but that's not the end of the problems.
Accountant side, we accept the invite and link it to the appropriate login. We've done this with 30 other companies, so we know it works.
Then we get a screen that says "Select Company" and we see our company and "Company not shown" as the options )or something to that effect. Select EITHER option, and *NOTHING* Happens. Asked client to remove invitation and try again.
When the connection WORKS, clicking this screen on the name of our company results in some "sparkle graphics" on the screen, and then it connects. If we DON'T SEE THE SPARKLES, then we know the connection did not work. The "No sparkles" happens way too often, and the current client I cannot connect at all.
Any ideas on how to fix?

A new client has attempted to my firm as the 2nd Accountant. I believe the 1st accountant provided QBs online to them through his ProAdvisor plan. I am also a ProAdvisor. I am not receiving the email invite when the client adds my firm. Is this because the other accountant added the company through his ProAdvisor plan? Does he have to approve my firm as the 2nd accountant? Can he block a 2nd accountant.
Good afternoon Mkamerer,
Thank you for reconnecting with the Community. I want to ensure you checked your junk or spam folders to see if the invitation could be there first. If not, I would like for you to reach out to the admin and ask them to resend the invitation again.
I am adding this article detailing how to add Intuit's service email addresses to your email's allowed list.
Please let me know if you were able to find it! I will be around to assist further. See you soon.
I have an issue. My Students are having trouble creating INTUIT account. We were getting message after I sent an invitation to them, and intuit would not let them create an account. Initially, it was their school email and we had them use another email and it worked for a couple of them, but not all. what is causing them not to be able to create an intuit account?
I appreciate you reaching out to the Community, @kpetiti.
To expedite the solution to your concern, I recommend contacting our dedicated technical support team for QuickBooks Online Education. Our representative will conduct a series of tests to know why your students can't create an Intuit account.

I was invited by a client. When I accepted the invite, it asked me to create an account. I did but now when I try to accept the invite, it sends me back to the Sign Up page and tells me the email account already exists.
Welcome to the Community, @JoseWeC.
Since you've already created an account have you tried clicking on the Sign in button? Doing this will route you to the page where you'll need to input your login credentials in QuickBooks. You can also use this link to log in to your QuickBooks account: Sign in to QuickBooks.
Furthermore, make sure that you have an active QuickBooks Online Account in order to login successfully.
Additionally, here's an article on how to add, manage, or delete user profiles in QuickBooks Online: Add and manage users in QuickBooks Online.
If you have further questions regarding users and concerns related to QuickBooks Online, please leave a comment below.
I can’t see manage user
Who is the Primary Admin? You or your accountant?
This is unusual, Mvsl.
I'm here to ensure you can view the Manage users button.
Beforehand, may I know what you're seeing on the Settings page? Adding a screenshot would be a great help, too.
To help you view and access the tab, I've added steps and a screenshot below.
To fix this, I recommend logging out and logging back into QuickBooks Online (QBO). Doing so refreshes your account for the updates to take effect.
If this isn't the case, I suggest accessing your account using a private window. This way, we can determine whether this is a browser cache-related issue. The browser utilizes cached data to load web pages quickly. However, excessive cache can lead to problems that impact the appearance and functionality of your account.
An incognito mode helps us verify the issue since this doesn't save any files. Here are the keyboard shortcuts:
If the Manage users show, clear the browser's cache. Doing so deletes all the data from your browser and optimizes its performance. Using other supported browsers also helps us verify if this is a browser-specific issue.
I'll be around if you need more help managing your users with your QuickBooks Online, Mvsl. Keep me in the loop by tagging me in your reply. Keep safe!
