Hi Jason,

I can lend a hand with setting up your second company.

As Raywhite28 stated, this will require another subscription, however both companies can be shown under the same account. Here's how:

  • Go to the following website: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/pricing/.
  • Click Buy Now under the version you'd like to sign up for.
  • Instead of entering your information on the next screen, click the link that reads "Already have an Intuit account from TurboTax, Mint, or QuickBooks? Sign In."
  • Enter the login credentials of your existing company, and follow the on-screen prompts to set up the second company.

Once you're finished, a few things will be different:

  • When you sign into your account, you'll now have the option to enter "Company 1" or "Company 2", instead of being directed to the home page of a company.
  • If you click the Gear icon, you'll see the option to Switch Companies

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to let me know.

Adding second company

   Go to http://quickbooks.intuit.com/online/
Click Buy Now or Free 30-Day Trial for the version you want (Simple Start, Essentials or Plus)
On the page that asks for your contact info, at the top, you should see Already have an account? Sign in
Sign in with the user ID and password you use for your other company subscriptions. You will now be setting up a new subscription under the same log in information.

It depends on entity type and how you set them up. You can have multiple businesses on one tax return all with the same EIN, each using a different schedule C, if they are Sole Proprietorships or non-corporate LLCs.  In QBO you can use one subscription and use Classes to separate the businesses if they all use the same accounting method (Plus needed for Class).   Each corporation or partnership needs it's own EIN, and own set of books.  You also may have multiple businesses all owned by one corporation or partnership .  The decision is based primarily on personal liability protection

Adding second company

Hello there, joeyo.

I appreciate you joining this thread.

There isn't a way we can automatically clone vendors from one company to another. You'll need to manually enter vendor information and transactions to the second company.

Here's how to add a new vendor;

  1. Select Expenses and then Vendors.
  2. Select Add a vendor.
  3. Complete the fields in the Vendor Information window.
  4. Select Save.

Here's a great resource about Vendors overview in QuickBooks Online.

Please know that you're always welcome to get back if you require further assistance with adding vendor information in QuickBooks Online (QBO). I'm always happy to help.
