Due to connection problems with our Huntington bank account, we disconnected and reconnected the account to get latest updates. But now the Banking page shows all transactions back to March and the Chart of Accounts for this account just has 1 entry with the current balance. It previously had all transactions from January and every month through May had been reconciled. It is like I lost all work I have done from January thru mid-June.
What do I need to do?

Once you disconnect an account, QuickBooks deletes transactions that need to be categorized in the For Review tab and not the categorized/reconciled transactions. While reconnecting, some banks let you download the last 90 days of transactions.
In your case, this might be the reason why it shows all your transactions after reconnecting them. Then, we can review your bank register, reconciliation reports without discrepancies, and the balances are correct for the missing transactions that you've mentioned.
To pull up your bank register, follow the steps below and use the filter tool to find them:
You may also run your previous reconciliation reports. These reports will show you if there are any transactions altered or deleted.

Thank you for the quick response. The previous account was called 'Operational Expenses'. I had reconciled that account every month since January. That account was disconnected and reconnected. When I go to the Chart of Accounts for 'Operational Expenses', there is only 1 entry - the current balance (for all dates). I went to the Reports as you explained and searched on Reconciliation Reports. When I select the 'Operational Expenses' account, it states that there are no reconciliation reports. It's like the history from this account is gone.
Any other ideas?

If you didn't categorize transactions into specific accounts, QBO may put them into the Uncategorized Income or Uncategorized Expense account after reconnecting your bank. Your missing transaction may be there. To check these accounts:

To move transactions out of the Uncategorized Income or Uncategorized Expense accounts, follow these steps to unmatch and move them.
If the transactions are still missing, let's sign in to your QBO using a private browser (incognito). There are times that the browser is already full of frequently accessed page resources (cache and cookies), causing some unusual responses. Here's how:
Once logged in, go back to the account to double-check. If they're showing, return to your default browser and perform a clear cache to refresh the system. However, if the issue persists, try using other supported browsers.

Thank you. OK I did find the missing transactions in the 'Uncategorized Expense' account.
But I am a little confused on what to do next. I should go to the Banking tab, and go through all the downloaded transactions from the new 'Operational Expenses' account and move them to the 'Uncategorized Expense' account? That doesnt seem right - none of the transactions in the new 'Operational Expenses' account have been categorized.
Is the endgame to get all the transactions that I previously cleared and reconciled into the new 'Operational Expense' account' ?

I unlinked and re-linked checking accounts. Now I have 107 transactions for review. The transactions were all previously categorized.
I see these transactions in the checking account. I can exclude these transactions, but my bank bal in QB is now way off from my actual bank balance.
The reason I unlinked is because my checking is not showing my true checking balance from the bank. I updated and it still doesn't show. I thought by unlinking and relinking it would update.
QB originally had the correct checking balance. Now I have 107 trx for review and my actual bank bal is still incorrect. I can't just exclude the trx because QB bank bal is incorrect? My QB bal is now in the negative.

Before anything else, please know that it's not advisable to unlink your account. Once you disconnect it, QuickBooks deletes transactions that need to be categorized in the For Review tab, not categorized/reconciled transactions. While reconnecting, some banks let you download the last 90 days of transactions.
Meanwhile, reviewing your bank statement and comparing it with the transactions in your register is essential before excluding them.
To pull up your bank register:
You can now review and compare the transactions with your bank statement.
Once done, return to your For Review tab, add and match essential transactions, and exclude unnecessary or duplicates.
It's vital to categorize your bank transactions properly, as it helps you get the correct balance.
