Has anyone here had problems with QB Payroll service not e filing quarterly reports? Or how to best access archived reports?

Same here.  Submitted to Intuit on January 2.  Still shows just "submitted to Intuit for processing". Not sent to agency or accepted.  It NEVER takes a week.  This is for the Federal 940 and 941.  State went through as normal. Not sure what to do???

I understand the urgency of having to file the forms rapidly, HillaryW.

When the form filing's status is Transmitted, we already sent the form to the agency. The IRS handles forms within a couple of weeks.

To trace the filing status, I suggest reaching out to our phone support team. Here's how:

  1. Click the ? Help icon.
  2. Go to the Search tab, then select Contact Us.
  3. Click Ask about something else.
  4. You may type in I submitted the forms last January 02, 2024, but the filing status remains as Transmitted.
  5. Click Continue,
  6. Select either Chat with us or Schedule appointment.

Furthermore, you can check this link on how you can check the status of your tax payment: Check the status of your payroll tax payment.

Keep me posted whenever you have concerns about filing forms.

It has NEVER taken more than 10 minutes for it to update that the agency received the form.

I have called support & spent over 7 hours on the phone (span of 7 calls) & have NOT gotten it fixed!!!!!!!

I am having the same issue.  Tech support is a joke.  But for what we pay they will be issuing some kind of billing credit.

I understand how challenging it can be when your tax forms are rejected, especially when you have ensured everything is in order, amandak0305.

Before anything else, please know that the Accepted status means that the agency has received and accepted the form. It doesn't imply that the IRS has approved them.

To check the filing statuses, refer to this article: Check the status of your payroll tax payments or filings sent through QuickBooks Payroll.

Moreover, you've mentioned a 10-digit PIN. Are you perhaps using QuickBooks Desktop Payroll? If so, updating your tax tables and ensuring the correct E-file PIN is set is essential.

If your tax table is updated and the PIN is correct, I recommend contacting our payroll support team to check the cause of the rejection.

To reach our payroll support team:

  1. Go to the Help menu and select QuickBooks Desktop Help/Contact Us.
  2. Select  Contact Us.
  3. Type a short description of your issue and concern in the box provided, then click Continue.
  4. Sign in to your Intuit account, select Continue, and then Continue with my account.
  5. You'll receive a single-use code in your email; enter the code and select Continue.
  6. Select Have us call you.

On the other hand, you can run a report to view the payroll wages, taxes, deductions, and contributions in QuickBooks Desktop.

You can return to me again if you need further help or clarification concerning federal forms. Kindly tap the reply button to enter your response. Please know that I'm always here to help in any way.

Has anyone here had problems with QB Payroll service not e filing quarterly reports? Or how to best access archived reports?

YES!  I received notice from Oregon that our 1st quarter 2024 payroll report was not filed.  I have called QB twice and still not filed.  They keep telling me that has been done.  Yet I received a second notice from Oregon employment department with fines for not filing.

Can anyone help me???????

Thanks for getting involved with this thread, c_banchero. I appreciate your detailed information.

Since you've been advised by Intuit that your quarterly report was filed successfully, but the Oregon Employment Department is saying it hasn't been filed with them, I'd recommend getting back in touch with our Customer Care team to discuss this further. They'll be able to pull up your account in a secure environment and conduct further research with you.

They can be reached while you're signed in.

Here's how:

  1. Use the Help (?) icon.

  2. Click Contact Us.

  3. Enter a description of your situation in the What can we help you with? field, then hit Let's talk.

  4. Select Start messaging or Get a call.

Be sure to review their support hours so you'll know when agents are available.

I've also included a detailed resource about working with QuickBooks Payroll which may come in handy moving forward: Pay & file payroll taxes/forms electronically

If there's any additional questions, I'm just a post away. Have a lovely Wednesday!

Has anyone here had problems with QB Payroll service not e filing quarterly reports? Or how to best access archived reports?

I have only e-filed the Form 941 twice for a new client and each time I received the same message:"Our records indicate that an electronically filed return has already been submitted and accepted for this EIN, quarter ending period, and return type". This is definitely not possible because I am the only person who could file the 941. First time I just mailed it in because I very busy catching up from tax season, but this time I want to get this issue resolved. What contact number do I call at the IRS or from error message, do you know how to fix this issue? Please advise. Thank you.

Has anyone here had problems with QB Payroll service not e filing quarterly reports? Or how to best access archived reports?

Completely frustrated with Intuit Assisted Payroll. They have handled our payroll for over 10 years.  They missed ONE weekly tax deposit and are saying we did not have their service during that time.  Thats completely insane as they filed late but still filed.  With Assisted payroll you have NO Way to write or efile .. It falls soley on Intuit.  Its amazing how they make a SERIOUS MISTAKE and it is all of a sudden NOT their problem.

I guess they are getting Too Big and Charging TOO many fees to keep up with their responsibilities.

Anyone have luck with an address or point of contact to provide a lawyer.

Has anyone here had problems with QB Payroll service not e filing quarterly reports? Or how to best access archived reports?

Using QB Online v 2.0.17
I eFiled my Federal forms - annual 940 and Q4 2024 941 on Jan 3, 2025. A week later they are still showing status = submitted.
I contacted support and was told the forms are in a queue. But they could not tell me why or when the forms will be processed with the IRS. They said and I quote, "The forms will be processed one of these days."

Ensuring that the e-filed federal tax forms are sent successfully to the IRS is significant to stay compliant, csp54321. That's why I'm here to guide you in monitoring these filings in your account.

Once you e-filed in QuickBooks, the Submitted status of your annual 940 and quarterly 941 forms were already sent to the agency. However, the IRS hasn't processed it yet. State agencies can take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks.

Additionally, if you haven't received an email confirmation after sending tax filings through QuickBooks Online Payroll, you can check the status in your company file. Here's how:

  1. Go to Taxes and then Payroll Tax.
  2. Select Filings.
  3. Once done, click Filter to choose the form or report you want to see. You can also scroll down to the filings under Done. The status next to the tax name will be displayed. Otherwise, select Archived forms and filings.

Take note of these tax filing statuses:

  • Not Transmitted: You did your part, but we haven't sent it to the IRS, state, or local tax agency yet.
  • Transmitted: We sent the form to the agency, but the agency hasn't processed it yet. The IRS generally processes forms within a few weeks.
  • In Agency or Sent to [Agency]: Indicates that the IRS, state, or local has received your forms, but hasn't processed or confirmed its acceptance.
  • Accepted: The agency has received and accepted the form.
  • Rejected: The receiving agency has received and rejected the form. Review the rejection letter emailed to you for the specific reason.

Furthermore, reach out to our Support Team if you haven't received updates from your filings. They have the tools to reevaluate the status of your account.

In addition to this, Explore QuickBooks Payroll if you're interested in taking payroll processing to the next level.

Moreover, to help you wrap up this year's payroll and prepare for the next. You can read this article: Year-end Checklist for QuickBooks Online Payroll.

I'm here to support you further if you require additional assistance when handling federal tax filings and payments. Feel free to let me know in the comments below. Keep safe.

Has anyone here had problems with QB Payroll service not e filing quarterly reports? Or how to best access archived reports?

Thanks for your response. You say that: "the Submitted status of your annual 940 and quarterly 941 forms were already sent to the agency. However, the IRS hasn't processed it yet."

That is not what I was told by QB Support. They said that the forms were in a queue at Intuit.

So I am getting different information from everyone I talk to about this. You also said: "State agencies can take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks."

My state agency, Texas Workforce Commission, processed my Q4 eFile the same day I submitted it.

My 2024 940 and Q4 2024 941 forms still say "Submitted." It has never taken this long before. Something is wrong!
