How can I talk to someone in person? I have tried several times to cancel my account and the system won't let me.

You can request a callback from the Help menu in your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account, @sheilaapplegate8. This way, one of our representatives will contact you at the time of your convenience. Let me provide further details about this.

We've updated our customer support options in QBO. You'll have to request a callback to talk to one of our support. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Help menu.
  2. Select the Contact Us button.
  3. Enter a brief description of your concern in the What can we help you with? field.
  4. Click Let's talk.
  5. Select Get a call or Get a callback.
  6. Enter your contact information.
  7. Select Confirm my call.

I've attached a screenshot below for your reference.

To make sure somebody from our support team will respond to your request, contact us within Monday to Friday every 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM PST. Then, 6:00 AM to 3:00 PM every Saturday. For the Advanced version of QuickBooks, you can contact them any time and any day.

While waiting for the callback, you can perform some troubleshooting steps. This is to identify if the reason you're unable to cancel your account is because of your browser. There are times that the browser is full of frequently accessed pages, thus causing some unusual responses to the system.  Let's isolate this by logging into your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account using a private browser (incognito). Here's how:

  • Press Ctrl Shift (Google Chrome)
  • Ctrl Shift (Firefox)
  • Control Option (Safari)

Once signed in, go to the Billing & Subscription page to cancel your QBO subscription. If it works, return to your default browser and clear its cache and cookies. This will refresh the system and remove older data which can potentially cause viewing and performance issues. However, if the issue persists, I'd recommend using other supported browsers in cancelling your account.

When you cancel your QBO subscription, you have read-only access to your company data for a year. To learn more about it, kindly refer to this article: What happens to my QuickBooks Online data after I cancel?. It contains information about data availability and export policies after cancellation.

Please let me know if you have other concerns. I'm just around to help.
