Hi -- Will this work for QB Desktop 2021?
You'll need a supported version of QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT), claire826. Let me discuss it in detail below.
The steps provided above will not work on a discontinued version of QBDT (QBDT 2021 and older). This is because the migration tool from QuickBooks Online requires online services to complete the process.
Aside from online services, please know that your access to QBDT Payroll Services, Online Backup, Online Banking, live technical support, and other services provided by the QBDT 2021 software are also discontinued. This also means you won't receive critical security updates. Thus, you'll want to upgrade your subscription to the supported version to continue exporting your data.
To learn more about our service discontinuation policy, kindly refer to this article: QuickBooks Desktop service discontinuation policy. This includes frequently asked questions about this policy.
Additionally, you can visit these resources if you want to upgrade your QBDT software to a supported version:
If there is anything else I can do for you about migrating data, please don't hesitate to add details below. I'll be there to help. Stay safe, and enjoy your day.
Yes. Did you encounter any problem?
Yes I tried it and it didn't work for my 2021 version.
You need to convert data from QBO US version to QB Desktop US version, correct?
If you have data with single currency, you can purchase a 3rd party conversion service if required.
I have considered that, but the reviews for those are pretty bad so I have low confidence.
Contact @Fiat Lux - ASIA for assistance. You can request a refund if you are not satisfied with the result.
I completed all the steps, but when I tried to import the XML file (which I had previously downloaded), I received a message: "The file you've selected is not valid XML."
Which QB Desktop year version do you have?
Step 2 on the QBO is invalid. Tried multiple times. Intuit is useless in offering assistance for this, as they don't want anyone using Desktop anymore, and I've been a ProAdvisor for years.
You can purchase a 3rd party service to convert your data if required.
I understand your feelings, especially after trying everything possible to migrate your data from QuickBooks Online to QuickBooks Desktop, @kaycruson1.
