I filed 2019 taxes with my husband (I had W-2 and my husband is self-employed). Then I was offered self-employed QuickBook. Can my husband get paid with the account? (he has ITIN #-no SSN). Thanks!

Yes. You'll have to file a tax as Married Filing Jointly, huybinhs.

This way, you only need to submit one tax return. Just make sure that you'll track your status, including your spouse's information.

I'll show you how:

  1. From the Gear icon, select Tax profile.
  2. Under Tax profile, enter your Spouse's first namelast nameannual W2 income, and federal withholding.
  3. Scroll down and proceed with the Deduction and other required information.
  4. Click Save.

I've also added these articles for additional reference:

Done! Thanks so much! So my husband just need to give my self-employed QuickBooks email address and my name (or my husband name?!) to his boss to get paid?

Hi huybinhs,

That is correct. The employer will collect the W-9 information to track the payments paid to your husband. Then, check out the articles provided by my colleague Adrian_A to process the forms at year end.

Please don't hesitate to add a comment if you have any additional questions or other concerns. Take care and stay safe.

I can’t find the article how to process the form. Could you please share the link?

Thanks for getting back to us, @huybinhs.

Here's the article for further information about processing your year-end form in QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE): QuickBooks Self-Employed annual tax guide.

Just in case, I'll add these articles again for future reference:
