You can filter the report period and manually enter the from and to date to view the current month. Let me guide you how.
Once you're done, you can either export your report to Excel or print it. Please refer to this article for details about customizing reports.
I've added this article about exporting reports for your reference.

I believe the question is can the Budget vs actual report show the current month compared to budget along side the YTD compared to budget. If I misunderstood Im sorry, but that is what I am trying to do and the question sounds the same. The columns would be FebActual/Feb Budget/Feb Variance/YTD actual/YTD Budget/YTD Variance. Can this be run?
It report would be a Profit and Loss YTD Comparison compared to budget
(not sure why my comment isn't staying posted)
Can a Profit and Loss YTD Comparison by Budget be created? The columns would be
Feb actual/Feb Budget/Variance/YTD actual/YTD Budget/Variance/Annual Budget-this could be filtered by class or be for all classes
Hey there, @swilliam15.
Thanks for reaching out. At the moment, QuickBooks Online doesn't support the option to run a comparison of YTD on the Budget vs. Actuals Report. For now, you'll need to run the report and compare it to the Budget Overview report for the year.

Do you plan on adding this feature of reporting? all the fields and data are there in order for that to happen. This is a monthly report I run for all our departments and would be very helpful. Does Quickbooks Enterprise Online have this report available?
I've read the whole thread, swilliam15.
The Budget feature in both Online and Desktop versions of QuickBooks are the same. It depends on how you create the budget and subdivide it by class, customer, or location.
You might want to export the Budget vs. Actuals report to an Excel file. Then, hide the information you want to exclude. I'll guide you how.
Let me share this link in case you want to customize reports in QuickBooks Online (QBO).
You can get back to this thread and leave a comment if you have further questions. We're here to help.
The budget vs actual report will not report two different time periods (current month and YTD) It wont matter if I export that report into excel. The information I want isnt all in that report.
I'm looking for the same reporting. I know I used to use with the desktop version. This seems like a pretty common report and not sure why QBO wouldn't offer or be able to filter? Are there any plans to add this report? Would really help. Thank you.
Thanks for following on this thread, @lmt818.
I can see that a lot of customers have the same need about being able to run the Budget vs Actual Report (current month and YTD). Your voice is important to us, and we take customer’s suggestion as an opportunity to guide us on which area of the product we need to improve on.
I’m sending feedback about adding the mentioned date range option on your behalf for consideration in a future update. To keep you in the loop about the latest features being rolled out, check them through here: QuickBooks Blog.
Aside from that, I’m adding an article that lists all reports available in the online version: Reports included in your QuickBooks Online subscription.
If there’s anything else I can help you with, leave a comment below. I’m more than happy to assist further. Enjoy the rest of the day.
I do this every month for my organization. I run the budget vs actual report and select "this fiscal year to last month" option for the dates. I set "show columns" to month. Then I export to excel, and hide all the columns related to the earlier months. It is a bit of a pain, yes, but then I get the current month and YTD figures showing.
I'm also needing the same option for clients. For now, they are running the Budget vs Actual for the month and then YTD as two separate reports, which kills an extra tree each month (as they like them printed out). It would be great if this report could get added for QBO as it is in QBDT soon - very soon!
I'd like the same report as well. It's a nuisance to have to export to excel, then hide a bunch of columns, then pdf the documents vs simply being able to set the parameters and create a report that automatically runs every month.
Hopefully this is on the list for Quickbooks to add as a report format.
This is such a basic need. QBO, please update your budget report options to include this! I just transitioned 2 clients from QBDT to QBO and didn't realized I'd lose this very important report.
Our organization needs this same actual vs. budget report comparing current period to annual period . I keep looking for Intuit to include this option in their online version.
I hope it comes out soon since there are so many people requesting it.
I agree that this should be a standard report option. I also need to run this report monthly for my organization and prefer not to have to export to Excel and manipulate the data.
I too need this report. I've ran it for my management for several years in QB Enterprise and now that I'm using the on-line version I can't seem to get the same basic reports that I had in QBDT. This should be a simple fix for the programmers. I can't understand for the life of me why Intuit would omit such important accounting features from QBO that were available in desktop.
I just want to re-iterate that this is a critical report for many organizations. We want to see our current monthly budget along with the annual budget. We used it all the time in Quickbooks Desktop and am now regretting switching to online.
I know how important it is to get the data for your business needs, jkhaferbecker.
While you're unable to see the monthly budget along with the annual budget in one statement, you can send feedback. Here's how:

I also need this report. Has it been created by QBs yet?
I appreciate you checking this with us, nancy808.
The option to create a report that shows the monthly budget along with the annual budget in one statement is still unavailable. In the meantime, you may consider the suggestions from this thread as an alternative.
You can run the Budget vs. Actuals and filter the Report period then manually enter the from and to date to view the current month.
Here's how:
Once you're done, you can either export your report to Excel or print it. Learn more about customizing reports through this article: Customizing reports.

I also need this report. PLEASE, PLEASE provide this option in QB online! I would think all non-profit companies regularly need a report like this. Each month I must run a Last Month report and YTD as of Last Month report and then manually import the values of each section from both reports into an Excel spreadsheet which has the Annual Budget and the formulas for totals already there. Tedious!
When marketing the Online version to a non-profit company, QB should make sure you disclose that it is not available because IT IS A BIG DEAL. Thank you.
Please add this basic report. :(
Hi kldjackson and 9130 3497 7780 0816,

This is such a basic need! Users have been asking for this for YEARS... how has it not been added?
