Where has to switch company tab gone? It was under profile and now it is not.

Thanks for reaching out to the Community, bryan.riecker.

Your Switch Company option can still be found on the Profile screen in Settings. If you're unable to see some options on your Profile screen, initially try scrolling up, down, left, and right to identify anything that may be hidden due to display settings on the computer or browser.

If it's still not displaying, I'd also recommend checking the browser you're using. It's possible this could have something to do with temporary internet files. Browsing applications store these types of records, but sometimes they can cause issues with certain webpages. You can open a private window and check to see if pages load properly.

Here's how to access incognito mode in some of the most commonly used web browsers:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl Shift N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl Shift P
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl Shift P
  • Safari: Command Option P

If your Switch Company option displays while browsing privately, it's safe to say this problem's being caused by your browser. It can typically be fixed by clearing cached data and Intuit-specific cookies.

In the event it continues not displaying properly while browsing in incognito mode, you'll want to try switching to another browsing application.

Here's a list of supported browsers

  • Google Chrome - version 78 or newer
  • Mozilla Firefox - version 76 or newer
  • Microsoft Edge - version 79 or newer
  • Opera - version 68 or newer
  • Samsung - version 10 or newer
  • Safari - version 12 or newer

You can also check a browser's compatibility with QuickBooks by utilizing our browser health checkup tool. QuickBooks supports the current and two previous versions of browsers. If you find that you're using an unsupported version, make sure to update it to its latest release. Steps for doing so can be found on the particular company's website.

If you meet our system requirements, but are continuing to not see the Switch Company option, I'd recommend using a different device and/or internet connection. If it continues happening on other devices and internet connections, you'll want to get in touch with our Customer Care team. They'll be able to pull up your account in a secure environment, conduct further research, and create an investigation ticket if necessary.

I've also included a detailed resource about switching companies which may come in handy moving forward: Switch between company files

Please feel welcome to send a reply if there's any additional questions. Have a great Thursday!

Where has to switch company tab gone? It was under profile and now it is not.

I did all that. Tried incognito, cleared browser history and cache. I still also can't see the switch company tab.

Encountering the same problem, it was still working fine yesterday.

Where has to switch company tab gone? It was under profile and now it is not.

I appreciate you for following the troubleshooting steps my colleague provided, Angela. Also, for joining this thread @GWMgmt.

Currently, there's an ongoing investigation (INV-109353) about the Switch Company icon missing from the Gear icon. In the meantime, you can manually sign in and out to switch between your companies.

Rest assured, our product team is working hard to fix this issue. We don't have an exact time frame for when this will be fixed. With that in mind, I suggest contacting the QuickBooks Online (QBO) Care Team to add you to the list of affected users. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Help (?) icon.
  2. Choose the Search tab and enter a short description of your concern. Then, press the Enter key on your keyboard.
  3. After that, click Contact Us.
  4. Then, choose how you would want to connect with us.

You may want to change your email address, user ID, or password when logging in to your account. Feel free to read this article: Update or change your Intuit Account sign-in information.

For additional questions about managing your QBO companies, click the Reply button below. We'll be willing to help. Keep safe, and have a good day ahead.

If you are still experiencing the same issue, we advise you to reach out to our phone or chat support for further assistance.

In the meantime, you can manually sign out and sign back in to switch between your companies.

Once done, you may want to add or manage users to help you with your company operations and bookkeeping. You can refer to this article: Add and manage users.

Where has to switch company tab gone? It was under profile and now it is not.

Thanks for joining the thread, JO124. I want to make sure you can retrieve your Switch company button in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

Have you tried the troubleshooting steps shared by my peer above? If not, I suggest you do so.

You can start by logging back in and out of your QuickBooks account to refresh the system. Sometimes, issues like missing buttons or features can occur due to session glitches. A fresh session can reload the user interface and restore missing elements.

If that doesn't fix the issue, log into your QBO account using a private or incognito window and see if you have the Switch company button from the settings. You can refer to ZackE's detailed process above.

If the issue remains even after doing all the suggestions, it's best to contact our Phone or Chat Support team. They can investigate further and find out what is causing the problem.

Here's how you can contact them:

  1. Go to the Help icon in the top right-hand corner.
  2. From the Search bar, enter your question/issue.
  3. Click the Contact Us button.
  4. Choose either Chat or Callback.

Please note that they can accommodate you Monday to Friday from 6 AM to 6 PM PT and Saturdays from 6 AM to 3 PM PT.

Moreover, you may visit this article to learn how you can change your settings and enable features: Edit company settings in QuickBooks Online.

If you have more questions or concerns about switching companies, please let us know by leaving a comment below. We'd be glad to provide the necessary help.
