I am trying to update from Quickbooks Mac 2011 desktop to 2016.
I downloaded the 2016 version. No problem. Migrated backup data with no issue.
Now, When I try to register the newer version, I type in the License and product numbers that I have from the 2011 CD and "invalid number: keeps coming up and forces me to register later.
I have double checked the numbers. I reinstalled the update. What am I doing wrong?
Please help!
Hello there, @DMAM!
You'll have to use the license and product numbers associated with the new QuickBooks you purchased. You can find it by going to CAMPs, select QuickBooks 2016, and then look for the product information. You can read through this article to learn more: Manage your QuickBooks Desktop subscriptions and services.
Lastly, here's an article you can read for ideas about what other tasks you can do with CAMPs: What is CAMPs and how do I use it?
Keep me posted in the comments if you have any other questions. I'll be here to help.

I didn't purchase Quickbooks for Mac 2016. I downloaded what I thought was an update. Hence, no new license or product#
Do I need to buy that version f it? and how do I do so?

QB 2016 is not supported any longer. Consider upgrading to QB 2020 instead. For 1 user, you may purchase the new license for $300 directly or around $200 thru a partner/reseller. If you MacOS is older than 10.14 Mojave, consider QB 2019 instead. Make sure installing the trial license to check it.
