Hi,
I have been using the export from Quickbooks Online to Quickbooks Desktop for years. All of a sudden it stopped working. It was a pretty grueling process that required you to use Internet Explorer ONLY but it worked. Now the option to export is gone. I read on another post here that the Export feature was down for upgrades. Do we know when this will be working again or is the feature gone forever? Please let me know as this is essential for my business.

What do we do if we have a Mac ? I have been on the phone with quickbooks for 12+ hours over the last two months trying to get it switched from online to desktop on my Mac and I am about to pull my hair out. The extraction tool does not work for Mac.
Welcome to the Community, alefever35. I'd be delighted to guide you through moving your data from QuickBooks Online (QBO) to QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) for Mac.
You'll initially need to convert the information from QBO to QBDT for Windows.
Before getting started, there's a few things you'll want to be aware of:
Once you're prepared, you can begin your data migration.
Here's how:
Now your details from QBO will be imported into QBDT for Mac.

I called into quickbooks and talked to a manager and they said that the file transfer from online to desktop is no longer supported. I have already been sent these instructions that include the windows transfer in between and they did not work. Now today I have talked to 3 different people. 1 who said to include windows still, 1 who said to not include the windows step, and 1 who said it is no longer possible to do this transfer at all. I have spent over 12 hours on the phone and requested someone to login to my computers remotely and fix this but all I keep getting is how to article links that do not work.
You may need a 3rd party conversion service.
In March of 2021, I went through the headache of the export and import with all the tools. Here is the article for those steps, but it still is difficult understanding their steps:

I'm here to guide you to make this process smooth and fast, @Shawn-Urns.

Well, I did the steps to export from Online to Desktop and finally got it to finalize someone okay. Now the reason we are doing this is to use Turbotax for the only reason we chose TurboTax over another tax software. TurboTax is not accepting it still.
Reading in the forum, this is an issue and has been an issue. To keep me from wasting more time I am wanting to "return" TurboTax and move back to the software I had been using for years.
Utilize the trial version of a bookkeeping app to integrate your QBO account and export the TXF file for TurboTax. You don't need to convert data to QB Desktop file.
Can you give me a link to the app you are referring to?
check your PM. Hope it helps.
I cancelled the online subscription for one company and have a year to export to Quickbooks desktop. I have followed the directions but it doesn't work. Here's where I have the problem with this instruction: Highlight the URL and replace anything after /app/ with exportqbodatatoqbdt. The URL should say https://cxx.qbo.intuit.com/app/exportqbodatatoqbdt. XX in the URL is a number, (don't edit the number) and select Enter on your keyboard.
There is no number in the XX part of the URL. When I open the company, the URL is https://app.qbo.intuit.com/app/homepage. When I first sign on, there are two companies - the one still active and the cancelled one. The URL shows this before I pick one of the companies: https://c28.qbo.intuit.com/c28/v1954.170/0/companysel. Once I select either company, the URL changes to: https://app.qbo.intuit.com/app/homepage.
Thank you for reaching out to us, @CDorsey.
I'll be glad to help you with your export concern.
I would just like to know when was the online subscription for one company canceled.
When you cancel your account, you'll have read-only access to your data for a year.
If you would like to talk to someone over the phone, you can contact QuickBooks Support.

The subscription was cancelled in February 2021. There is supposed to be a one-year period of access to run reports and export to Quickbooks desktop. When I contacted Intuit, they would not give me any help unless we paid hundreds of dollars for support for a period of time.

I am not sure it was a legit support.
You're right, as I just googled that number. I was sure I had contacted Intuit support through a legit number that I found online.
I have communicated with QBO and QBDT for the past couple months to get ready for the migration. On Monday, I was going to do the QBO data export for the migration and following the steps in this article (Export and convert your QuickBooks Online data to ... (intuit.com)), but the URL at step 2 (to export view) stops working. Then, I have contacted several OBO CSR, and they told me they have stopped providing the data export for QBO to QBDT migration since last December. Is this true?
Then why both QBO and QBDT instructed me to follow the steps in the article to do the migration in Feb 2021, and also spent so much time to communicate with me about my concerns about the self-migration in the past couple months and even last Friday? It is wasting both our time for nothing! It is very disappointing!
What third party app was used for bookkeeping app to integrate your QBO account and export the TXF file for TurboTax?? thanks!
Can you tell me what app you used for conversion?
