How to change my verification phone number

We've got your back, @hayleeb. We'll help you change the phone number used to receive the verification code so you can continue and change your payroll bank account inside QuickBooks Online (QBO).

Before anything else, know that this isn't the experience we'd want you to have when using QuickBooks Online (QBO). You'll want to go to the Payroll settings to modify the phone number used. We'll write down the steps to get you going:

1. Access your QuickBooks Online company.
2. On the top-right corner, click the Gear icon.
3. Choose Payroll settings.
4. Scroll down to the Contact information section, and then click the Pencil icon.
5. Enter the necessary details.
6. Once done, click the Save button.

How can you change the phone number when you have to verify the phone number you no longer have with a code you can't receive because you don't have that phone number anymore?

Let me help you update your phone number in QuickBooks, Kevraycan. 

In QuickBooks Online (QBO), you can update or change your phone number without having a code to send in the previous number. You'll just have to fill out the recovery form that I'll provide so that QBO will process your request within one business day. Please know that we don't have access to change or update your phone. Thus, only you can change your information. 

Follow these steps: 

1. Take a high-quality photo or scan of your driver's license, state ID, passport, or notarized document.
2. Fill out the form below with your info, and upload your ID or document.
3. Look for an email from no_response@intuit.com with the next steps. If we approve your request, you'll receive a link to reset your password.

I can login. after i login.... the next thing it does is prompt me to verify.... there is a phone number listed to receive a verification code but this number is no longer (not) a good number anymore... what should i do?

I need to change my phone number on my quickbooks account, but I don't have my old phone to receive a verification text.

Hello there, Nathan. Since you mentioned you don't have access to your old phone number and want to change it, I can help you on how to change it.

You can use Intuit’s Account Recovery Form to update your account securely. Here's how:

1. Complete the Intuit Account Recovery: Proof of Identity Form.
2. Once the file is uploaded, select Submit.
3. Intuit will process your request within one business day (Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM Pacific). You’ll receive an email notification once updated.

To check if it has already been updated, sign in to your Intuit Account using your updated information. Here's how:
