If I am viewing my check register my "ending balance" shows the correct amount. However, if I view my "Chart of Accounts" my bank balance shows substantially more. When I click on my bank account in the chart of accounts it opens up the "Check Register".
Why wouldn't the bank "Balance" on the Chart of Accounts match the "Ending Balance" in the "Register".
I am going crazy trying to figure out why the two numbers don't match and how can I get them to match.
Any help would be appreciated.

Possible file and/or data damage. With the chart of accounts open select edit>resort list, if that doesn't do it run file>utilities>verify data and rebuild data.

Rebuild data did it! Thanks a bunch!
Thank you worked for me.
Thanks again for the feedback and help with the rebuild data but I still don't understand why this is happened to my new MAC 2014 that I bought only 3 weeks ago as well as my new QB 2014 that I installed at the same time. I never had issues like this for over 6 years with my PC and QB. This is quite difficult to rely on especially when running a small business and every penny counts when paying vendors. I would not recommend MAC QB to others.
I have tried this fix several times and still my end balance is thousands of dollars higher than my bank reconciliation balance (which is correct). Any other suggestions? I have checked the chart of accounts and all entries are correct. Thank you in advance

Thank you in advance.
Glad to see you again, @Lhermitage,
Having to go through multiple troubleshooting steps can be time-consuming when you have more important things to do.
Since you already did the recommended steps but keeps getting the same hitch, I would recommend getting in touch with our QuickBooks Support for further assistance. They can open an investigation specifically for the problem, and provide further troubleshooting to complete your work.

Your best best is to ignore it or customize the report to not show a balance. I have searched extensively and Level 8 Quickbooks folks say it is a bug. For some folks the verify/ rebuild procedure works. It doesn't for me. I hate modifying formulas in my small excel/ sheets programs because of fear of cascading issues. I can't imagine messing with the full Quickbooks coding. Just ignore it. Maybe Quickbooks will remove it entirely soon so we can't see it.
