QBO Won't Signin with NavyFederal Credit Union

@AlcaeusF     If you look through this 2 week long thread you'll see multiple postings stating the errors.

I've spoken with tech support and know there's a trouble ticket opened but we have not heard anything as to when this will be resolved.

No issues with logging into Navy Federal directly, issue is trying to sync with QBO.

Here's the screen grab of the error.

I am having the same issue. I received this email yesterday. Crazy that the admin that just posted doesn't have this info. Good thing I am not running a business using QB. Oh wait. I am.

Our engineers have looked into the issue of seeing bank error 106 and our product team has determined that your Financial Institution is blocking our access. We have opened communication with the Financial Institution and are working to resolve this issue. Unfortunately, we don't have an expected timeline on when issue will be resolved.

Our next scheduled update will be: Fri Jun 16 19:00:00 GMT 2023

We thank you for your patience.

No. I am not going to provide information that was already provided.

This response suggests that you have not read through the thread

It is also disingenuous that you would make the comment that "Online banking is one of the biggest timesavers in QuickBooks Online."

You guys know the error code. It's code 106. Same problem everyday just no solution from Intuit or Navy federal.

As a test, I just started a free trial of Xero, an alternative to QB and my navy federal account synced up just fine. Went back to QBO and tried again, same 106 error.

I am having the same issue.  2 weeks = a typical agile sprint.  Was this not re-prioritized into your latest sprint cycle??  Or, was it and we can expect a fix in 2 more weeks?  At least manage our expectations, pls!

Try Xero.  I used them with great success for a couple of years, but moved to a rural area with only one accountant that is still wedded to the abysmal pricing and platform that is QBO.

I am just migrating to Quickbooks Online from Quickbooks Desktop with 2 businesses.  One synced up fine with Navy Federal Credit Union.  The other keeps getting the 106 error.  I spoke to Tech Support today and they say they added me to the investigation and that I should get updates.  I did advise her that one of the companies is connected fine.  No errors.  She got that company ID so maybe they can look into the code to see what is different from the business that connects fine with 4 accounts and not the other business with only 2 accounts.  So it appears that its not all accounts.  Hopefully they get this resolved soon.

As of 10:30pm ET, this seems to be working again. I was able to complete the linking of accounts and downloading transactions since the last upload.  The process created new accounts... now I need to figure out how to map the new transactions (and future ones) to the pre-existing accounts in QB.

Hello there, Scott. I've got some information to help you manage your downloaded transactions in QuickBooks Online so you can get back to business in no time.

You can utilize the Find Match feature from the Banking window. This way, you can map those latest and future transactions to the pre-existing accounts in QBO.

  1. Go to the Banking menu.
  2. Select the tile for the account you want to review.
  3. Choose the For review tab to start your review.
  4. Tick the transaction, then select Find Match.
  5. From there, modify the beginning and ending dates.
  6. Check the box of the transactions you want to match.
  7. Click Save

For more details about this process, please review this handy article for your guide: Categorize and match online bank transactions in QuickBooks Online.

Once everything is all set, feel free to review this handy resource for your guide in reconciling your accounts seamlessly: Reconcile an account in QuickBooks Online.

Stay in touch if you have any other questions or follow-up banking inquiries. I'll be right here to answer them for you.

I have had an account with you through QBO for years and my bank has always been Navy Federal and we never had problems connecting.  We haven't been able to bring transactions in since May 28th.  What's the problem and when will this be fixed?   This is unacceptable.  We don't have the time to manually transfer hundreds of transactions.  Cindy <removed>

Hello there, Cindy.

Let's perform some troubleshooting steps to help fix your bank connection in QuickBooks Online (QBO). This way, you can keep your account updated and manage your transactions accordingly.

Before we start, I'd like to verify if you encounter a connection error with your bank (Navy Federal) while downloading transactions in QBO. This way, I can provide the exact solution for this matter.

Your bank is either performing system maintenance, or there are notifications on their website that need your attention. That's why you encounter connection issues in QBO.

When your financial institution performs system maintenance, you can update your account manually. This refreshes the connection between your bank and the program. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Banking or Transactions menu.
  2. Select the blue tile for your credit card account.
  3. Click the Update button.
  4. (Optional) Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the process.

Next, sign in to your bank's website. This is to check your account page for messages or alerts that need your attention. Once you make changes on the website (for example, login credentials and account information), you'll have to update QuickBooks as well. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Banking or Transactions menu.
  2. Select the blue tile for your credit card account.
  3. Click the Edit icon.
  4. Choose either Edit sign-in info or Edit account info.
  5. Enter all the necessary details and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the process.

Once your connection is fixed and transactions are downloaded, review and/or match them to the existing entries in QuickBooks. This will keep your account updated.

Also, I encourage you to reconcile your accounts in QBO regularly (every month). This helps monitor your income and expense transactions and detect possible errors accordingly. You may want to check out this article to guide you in doing and fixing reconciliations in QBO: Learn the reconcile workflow in QuickBooks.

I'm all ears if you have other banking concerns or questions about managing transactions in QBO. You can drop a comment below, and I'll gladly help. Take care always, Cindy.

Why are you answering questions that aren’t relevant??? Please don’t send me canned responses. When will connecting to my bank be fixed?

I understand this hasn't been easy on your end, @CJ70. I'll ensure you that the information I'll be providing will help you feel at ease.

Currently, there's an ongoing investigation into this issue (INV-88411). Our engineers have looked into the issue of seeking bank error 106, and our product team has determined that your Financial Institution is blocking our access.

We have opened communication with them and are working to resolve this issue. At the moment, we don't have an expected timeline for when this issue will be resolved. So I recommend contacting our team to add you as one of the affected and email you once updates are available. Here's how to contact our support team:

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Online, then click the Help (?) icon.
  2. Choose either tab to get started: Assistant or Talk to human.
  3. Select Contact Us.
  4. Click Start a chat with a support expert or Get a callback from the next available expert.

Once this investigation is resolved, you can read this article about what you can do next: Categorize and match online bank transactions in QuickBooks Online.

Please keep us posted if you have additional questions about managing your QBO account. It's our priority to ensure this gets resolved.

You are joking, right?  You are literally sitting behind your keyboard laughing at us all as you yet again make no effort to understand the issue or resolve.

The error code has been shared above dozens of times.  Had your read the thread you would know that.

The bank is not performing "maintenance issues."  Had you read the thread you would know that.

Hundreds of us are not simply idiots, but thank you for suggesting we all collectively forgot our usernames and password in bizarre case of QB-specific mass psychosis.  Again, do yourself a favor and actually read the entire thread.

FRIENDLY NOTE FOR ADMINS AND MONITORS:  IF YOU ARE GOING TO READ THE THREAD, IF YOU AREN'T GOING TO LISTEN TO THE ISSUE, SAVE YOURSELF THE HATE AND DON'T WASTE OUR TIME WITH AN INANE POST THAT ADDS NOTHING OF VALUE.

Since this is the preponderance of support we are seeing I again conclude that QB admin are collectively chortling with evil delight at our frustration.

Bryan M. ~ I'll add a detail to the discussion.

Not too long ago NFCU added a new (and utterly unnecessary) feature to their login.  After the username and password are entered, but before the account data is shown, there is now a popup that asks the user for their location.

Is it possible this new feature could be throwing off the synch with QBO?

Thank you, Neil

Neil,

NFCU implemented the MFA about 2 yrs ago or longer and it was working fine.  Even with this problem, the codes were texted/emailed and entered into QBO and then the data transfer appeared to start. That is when the error popped up.

Hi, SchuCru. I appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts on this issue.

We're still unsure whether this was caused by the new feature in your financial institution's login option. But rest assured that our engineers are now investigating this issue and are in contact with your financial institutions to find a permanent solution.

While I'm unable to provide a specific time frame of when this issue will be fixed, I recommend reaching our Support Team using the steps outlined by my colleague @Bryan_M above.

In the meantime, you can use this article as a guide to manually upload your transactions: Manually upload transactions into QuickBooks Online.

Return to this thread if you still have other banking concerns. I'll be here to check on your response.

I was so excited to see all the successful connections.  I was not so lucky.  This problem is not fixed, at least for some people.  The ticket should not be closed.
