HELP!! I have tried everything and I cannot even get into the help screen to get a callback! Is there a number I can call?

Nevertheless, if you wish to talk with one of our specialists, you’ll need to schedule a callback from us. To contact them, I recommend accessing your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account on a private window (incognito). This way, we can verify if the issue you’re having is caused by stored cache files. 

 

Browsers save cache data to help load the page faster. When piled up, this causes issues and affects your QBO performance. Using a private window doesn’t save any cache files. Thus, this can help us verify the issue easily. To start, you can use these keyboard shortcuts in opening a private window:

 

  • Press keys: Ctrl + Shift + N (Google Chrome browser)
  • Press keys: Ctrl + Shift + P (Mozilla Firefox browser)
  • Press keys: Command + Shift + N (Safari browser)

 

If you’re able to contact our Support team, I’d suggest clearing your regular browser's cache. This will delete all saved data files from your browser and helps it to function efficiently. If the issue persists, try using other supported browsers. That way, we can check if this is a browser-integrated issue.

I am having the same issue. I am a new quickbooks customer and set up our business checking account, it's showing updates (that are accurate), but no transactions are showing up. I have tried most of the above suggestions (if they were applicable) to no avail. We are with Bank of the West in CA. Please advise, thank you so much!

If you've done the steps in manually updating your bank but encounter the same result, There's a possibility that the connection between your bank's website and QuickBooks was interrupted. I'd suggest getting in touch with your bank to verify if they have ongoing page maintenance that's causing the interruption.

Since you see "0 transactions," I encourage you to follow the steps to manually upload the transactions as mentioned by my colleague above. Manually uploading the transactions would be the best course of action at this time.

What was the solution specifically? Manually updating your transactions? I am super frustrated with the same problem. Montecito Bank and Trust. I've tried all of the suggested solutions above. Why do I pay $70 a month so that I can manually pull in transactions?

I'd also feel the same way when something doesn't work as expected. Let me provide some information on why you’re unable to get the latest entries from Montecito Bank and Trust.


The issue you’re experiencing is already reported to our engineers (INV-58365). They’re actively working to get the bank feeds feature running back to normal.


We request all affected users to sign up to the notification list. This is to ensure you’ll receive email updates about the investigation.


Here’s how to reach them:

 

  1. In your company, click the Help icon at the top to open the QB Assistant window.
  2. In the Assistant tab, key in the issue or topic in the field box.
  3. Press the Get help from a human link and follow the on-screen steps to complete the process.
  4. From the support options, select Chat or Callback.


In the meantime, upload your bank transactions via Web Connect. For detailed instructions, see the following article: Manually upload transactions into QuickBooks Online.


For additional reference, this link will guide you on how to get your downloaded to show in QBO. From there, you’ll see the links to common bank feeds errors.

Would you mind telling us the name of the bank and if you receive an error when you manually update your connection? That way, I can check if there's an emerging issue and a workaround.

 

You can also find more information by clicking the code in Step 4 of this article: What to do if you get a bank error or can't download transactions in QuickBooks Online. However, if you don't get anything, please follow Steps 2 and 3.

 

If still unresolved, you can consider uploading the transactions of the affected period. Then, please contact our QBO Support, so they can use more tools to gather more details and investigate this further.

I am having this same issue with Bank of America (BOA).

 

Last week I set up a new company in QBO using the balance sheet entries from when our previous accounting firm kept the company accounting under their QB account.  The new company only has two banking accounts (checking & CC that are both through BOA) and there were only 7 total accounts to enter opening balances for - it should be a VERY SIMPLE company to manage in QBO.

 

The bank accounts sync to show the correct balances for any given time period between now and the opening balance date (9/1/2020), however, only one (1) transaction is showing up for the checking account and one (1) transaction shows up for the CC.  I have checked my login information, permissions, and settings numerous times - and I know that they're correct due to the balances for any given time period showing up properly.  Since BOA is one of the largest banking institutions, I doubt that this issue is due to an inability for connection between QBO and BOA.

 

When I switch to another QBO company of mine, there's no issue syncing and viewing bank transactions from other smaller credit unions and credit card companies.

 

So, what do I do from here?

I appreciate the in-depth details you've shared to this thread to describe the problem you've encountered. Can you please confirm if you're getting any error messages with the BOA account before this happened? Any new details will help.

 

In the meantime, if the transactions are not coming in and you're in rush to get bank transactions in your account for reconciliation, upload them manually. Download the data from your bank then map the transactions in a CSV file.

 

Once it is ready, start importing the file to your QuickBooks Online company. Follow these steps:

 

  1. Open your QBO account and tap the Banking menu.
  2. Click the Link Account drop-down.
  3. Tap the Upload from file option.
  4. Press Browse and choose the file you want to upload.
  5. Choose an QBO file from the list, then Open.
  6. Follow the on-screen instructions to map the fields.
  7. Select the transactions to import.
  8. Click Yes then Let’s go.

 

When the online banking connection is reconnected, the bank might re-download the transactions that were not fetched before. To avoid any duplicates, exclude them in the For Review tab. Here's how:

 

  1. Go to the For Review tab.
  2. Mark the box next to each transaction you want to exclude.
  3. Select Exclude from the pop-up at the top.

Excluded transactions are then moved to the Excluded tab, and won’t be added to QuickBooks or be downloaded again. To permanently delete duplicate entries, put a check mark on them, then hit Delete.

I'd also recommend contacting our support to report this banking problem. Follow these steps to get a live support to help you:

 

  1. Go to the Help menu in QuickBooks, then choose the Search tab.
  2. At the bottom click on Contact us.
  3. Enter the keyword Account Management and Billing in the What can we help you with? box.
  4. On the next screen, scroll down to How would you like to connect with us section.
  5. Choose your contact option to initiate a discussion with a live agent.

As of writing this reply, I just got off of an over 2 hour call with Intuit.  Through a variety of troubleshooting consisting of using both "Smartlook" and "Glance", I was told that the issue is 100% on the BOA side and that a ticket has been opened.  I was told that this is not an isolated incident on my end either, so I would expect more inquires regarding this issue until BOA fixes whatever they need to on their end...

No, I have not encountered any error messages.  I ended up downloading the bank transactions and manually importing them, and because this method only works for the last 18 months, I will have to manually create entries for 3 months worth of transactions.  Needless to say, this is highly annoying because the reason I pay for Quickbooks is for the convenience of not having to enter all transactions manually.

There's an ongoing issue with Bank of America. Our customers are experiencing missing transactions in their QBO accounts.

 

Our Product Engineering team is already aware of this and now working on fixing the connection between the bank and QuickBooks.

 

In the meantime, you can add your transactions from the bank by downloading them from your online banking account, then importing them to your QBO account. You can follow the steps provided by Jen_D above. Check this article for detailed guidance: Manually upload transactions into QuickBooks Online.

 

To constantly receive an update about this, you can be added to the email list by reaching out to our Customer Support Team. Then, let them add you to Investigation No. 71413.

 

You can reach them by going to the Help icon at the top right of the account. Follow the steps below:

  2. Click on the Contact Us button and provide some details about this concern.

Before we start, may I know if you encounter any error message?

 

If you didn't receive any error message, we can manually update your bank to get the latest available transactions.

 

Here's how:

 

  1. Go to the Banking at the left panel.
  2. Select Banking tab.
  3. Click on Update button.

 

This will update all of your linked bank and credit card accounts and increase the number of transactions displayed in each account tile.

No I don't get any error messages. When I click on the update button the bank balance will update but it does not pull any transactions from the bank for review. The Quickbooks balance stays the same. This has only just started happening as I have changed my bank account. I was with Santander and had no problems at all but now I am with Natwest

The connection between Natwest and QuickBooks Online may be interrupted. I'd recommend getting in touch with their support to verify if they have ongoing maintenance that's causing the missing transaction.

 

If none, I'd suggest logging in to your QuickBooks Online account via a private window. Doing so helps us determine if this is a browser-related issue.

 

Here are the keyboard shortcuts: 

 

  • Safari: Command + Shift + N 
  • Google Chrome: CTRL + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox or Microsoft Edge: CTRL + Shift + P 

 

Once signed in, update your bank again. If it works, clear the browser's cache to improve QuickBooks' performance.

 

You can also use other supported browsers as alternatives.

Same issue here.  Paradise Bank in Florida.  Account balances change as transactions occur, but the individual transactions are not showing in Qbooks.   I've already tried all of the troubleshooting steps outlined in this Community post.

 

Any other ideas?  Manually uploading transactions is not an acceptable answer.

They have the tools to pull up your account in a secure environment and be able to investigate the cause of the missing transactions.

We have Bank of America accounts and I have updated and disconnected/reconnected. Double checked password/user name and clicked the update button a number of times. I have looked in our BofA account and there are no error messages. I have no messages in my QBO Plus account. When it updates the balance matches the bank account balance but there are no transactions that are downloaded.

 

I do not want to spend hours doing a manual update, if I have to do that then why keep QBO?

I'm with Bank of America also and I've had the same issue for a couple of days now.

 

Hoping it will be resolved soon.  Reading older posts in the thread, sounds like there are sometimes issues on the bank's side that need to be ironed out with Intuit.  Super frustrating.
