@Rubielyn_J When will we see this update? I am using QuickBooks Desktop Pro Plus 2022 and have confirmed that I've received all updates. The integrated browser is still IE and therefore access to my bank is not possible.
I appreciate you joining the thread and sharing your concerns here in the Community, @tjdiliscia.
I understand that these updates are beneficial to you and your business. For the time being, QuickBooks will provide updates if and when they become available.
Alternatively, what I can suggest is to do updates from time to time. I’ll guide you on how:
Once you’re done, close and reopen your QBDT, then select Yes.
From there, you can now restart your computer to finish the updates.
In addition, I’m adding this article here for more updates on IE 11: Use our built-in browser in QuickBooks Desktop.
To keep you updated with the features of the latest QuickBooks Desktop version 2022, feel free to check out these resources:
I’m always ready to assist you if you have any other questions or concerns about QBDT updates. Tag me in your reply and I’ll sprint back into action. Have a good one and keep safe.
Careful when you upgrade to QBDesktop 2022...you will no longer be able to import time data and export lists for QB Pro Timer:
Subject: Re: Upgrading QB Desktop Pro Payroll 2021 to 2022 |
Date: October 20, 2021 02:11 PM |
In the end, I spent about 3 hours manually entering data (cut and paste) from Quickbooks Pro Timer files completed by my employees. That was after investigating all the options discussed in this thread (probably at least another 6 hours). Quickbooks is promoted as software that will streamline business accounting and it has worked very well for me for the past 25 years. My employees and I have developed some very good habits with Pro Timer, entering time and detailing the work complete in Notes that were easily incorporated into the invoices to our clients. Payroll was simple as well using Pro Timer. You have crippled my firm by taking the ability to import time activities and export timer lists. Currently we are swamped with work, desperately searching for new employees, and have no time for major changes to our system. In the midst of a pandemic, Quickbooks chose to take away productive tools from this customer. A customer of 25 years that never had a problem with new upgrades. The solution is simple: release an update that reinstates two simple command routines that were a part of the software for at least 25 years. PLEASE! |
MS has created IE11 mode in MS Edge, but they don't explicitly say how to set it up for Quickbooks. This would be a great solution as it allows support for specific programs (QB), without affecting other apps. This will also eliminate the need for IE on the system. My question is: what URLs are needed by QB, so I can add them to our IE Mode list? The instructions for setting-up IE mode are here: Deployment guides for Microsoft 365 - Configure IE mode for Microsoft Edge

It's all about the money.. as usual.
Quickbooks will no longer offer support for ANY browser unless you first upgrade to a subscription.. surprise, surprise. All the perpetual versions will be shut out.
This should not be their option. If we want to continue without a subscription it should be ours.
I can still run QBD 2013-2021 with no subscription license to date.
Here's what I have; Quickbooks Pro 2018
I can no longer send invoices through email using Google - Google says Quickbooks is no longer a secure service so that's gone.
Quickbooks backup ( not that I ever used it ) and support is flagged at the bottom of my Quickbooks window with a message stating both have been discontinued.
When starting Quickbooks now I get a message that takes up 1/4 of the screen telling me there is no longer support for IE11 as Windows is dropping it. They apparently do not support Edge with this version, there does not seem to be a way to switch browsers and Quickbooks is recommending ( of course) to upgrade and their proprietary "new" browser.
Their solution? Upgrade to the subscription service and all will be well.. Except I don't want their subscription and a perpetual license is not to be found anywhere for any newer version.
So.. While I can run it, I have lost access to email for one and I'm waiting to see what the loss of IE11 is going to do.
If it is still working for you great. I'm guessing you don't use gmail for your email service..
These companies do love their subscriptions. They've discovered a goldmine and they aren't going to give it up. I don't want to "rent" software by the month.

You can still purchase the one time license for QBD 2021 from some partners if required. If you prefer to have QBD 2022, you can purchase the one time license for QBD 2022 Accountant edition.
Been trying to find a perpetual license QB2021Pro for awhile now. No luck so far. I'm not sure any exist.
If you know of any I would appreciate a point in the right direction. Thank you.
Click our username and send a private message to us. We can help to provide the license.

I'm trying to purchase a new non subscription version of 2021. I have Pro 2018 now.
Don't need to find the license I need to by the software.
Thanks
Thanks for getting back with the Community, Caller951.
Currently, QuickBooks Desktop Pro 2021 can't be purchased as a subscription or non-subscription. Intuit no longer offers standalone versions.
QuickBooks Desktop Pro Plus 2022 can be obtained by purchasing an annual subscription. You can learn more from our pricing page.
I'll be here to help if there's any questions. Have an awesome Friday!
How long do the current standalone desktop software packages operate? Can I run the software without updates from Intuit? Is the software "disabled" at the end of a certain period?
I've been running my QB 2020 Pro version without little or no interaction with Intuit for quite awhile and haven't used the browser interaction function for a couple of years since the banks disabled interaction with Internet 11 (which began this thread in the first place).
It's great to have you here and help you out with this QuickBooks licensing and system requirements concern, @rjmccann.
If you purchase the standalone version of QuickBooks Desktop, from the retail stores or with us, this can be supported for up to 3 years before it gets discontinued. For example, you got the 2020 version, it will be supported until May 31, 2023. But you can also choose not to upgrade after such time, as the license can be opened even after its discontinued. Only the add on services or updates are unsupported. To learn more about the disco policy, see this link here: QuickBooks Desktop service discontinuation policy and upgrade information
Additionally, updates are required to download critical and security patches. However, it's optional if you want to download them to ensure the program works as it should. But if you're not experiencing any problem, you can choose not to download them at your own risk.
Here's an article about the system requirements and updates: Update QuickBooks Desktop to the latest release.
Please post here again if you have other questions or concerns with your QuickBooks Desktop license. I'll be right here to help you out any time.
I am now unable to log into my Intuit account from withing QB Enterprise 18. I think this IE problem has affected the intuit account login page from within QB. This is a major problem since it says I'll be locked out of my company file within 28 days if I don't log into my intuit account from withing QB.
We can't update to the latest version at our office just because of a login issue. Please provide a solution urgently
Hey alexkiko,
Thanks for chiming in on the thread. I would recommend calling us in to investigate the matter further. If necessary, we will escalate this case as well. Our team has the tools to do share screening and run some tests. You can call us at 1-800-4INTUIT (1-800-446-8848) or use our chat service to get you up and running.
Please feel free to let me know how it goes. If you should have any questions, I'm just a click away.
Thank you for the reply. I was speaking with a service advisor on a call back, and she said she didn't have the ability of escalating the call to a supervisor. she suggested to request a call back again and on the request ask for the supervisor.
I was told that QB Enterprise 18 is no longer supported and I would need to upgrade the company accounting software to the latest one in order to fix this issue. This worked ok until recently and now all of the sudden I can't use the Intuit Account withing QB anymore or it fails to allow me to log in. If I don't login from inside QB within 28 days I will be locked out of my company file and my accounting system. It seems ridiculous that I need to upgrade to a new version of quickbooks because of this Intuit account login issue. A software that we fully paid for and worked all along, now we are being held hostage to upgrade because Intuit has an issue or stopped support the software. How does the end of support life for the software affect my installed version of the software on my computer and stops me from using a software that I fully paid for?
I noticed they did "something" and forced certain outdated versions (eg 2018) to comply with Intuit ID requirements since June. Afaik, you don't need to upgrade your existing version (i.e QBD 2018) to comply. Several members of our team are running QBD 2018 Premier and have had no issues with this requirement. Try installing your QBD 2018 on another computer and open your files. When the program asks for your Intuit ID credentials, be sure to log in as the Primary Admin to continue.
I am using QB Accountant 2021, fully updated to release R10 but am still having this problem. (see attached imge) When in Bank Feeds, my banking website is detecting my default browser as a very old version of Chrome. In fact, my default browser is the latest version of Firefox. I've also tried changing my default browser to Chrome or Edge (also fully updated) but it's still detecting it as Chrome 84.0.
How do I get the new built-in browser to work?
Hi, B_step.
Allow me to chime in and share some information about how the built-in browser works in QuickBooks Desktop.
As of June 10, 2022, all supported versions of QuickBooks Desktop will now be using a new built-in browser that replaces Internet Explorer 11. It’s reliable and will include critical security updates.
If the feature isn't added to your QuickBooks, I'd recommend updating the program. Here's how:
Please note that updates will be provided if and when they become available. For more details, please see this article: New Custom Internal Browser.
However, if it's still not working, I recommend reaching out to our support team so they can look into this and investigate further. This way, they can also double-check if some users are also experiencing the same thing. Here's how to reach them:
Additionally, I've added an article that'll guide you in managing your bank transactions in QuickBooks Desktop. This helps you in keeping them in the correct accounts: Add and Match Bank Feed Data.
Please let me know if you need clarification about this or if there's anything else I can do for you. I'll be waiting for your response.
Your built in browser is not supported by Chase Bank. A REALLY large commercial bank! They want Edge, Chrome or Safari. The work around should not be reguired in 2022!
HELP! I can not download transactions from Chase Bank because my browser is no longer supported (Chrome) but I have no idea how to update the browser!
I used to download the transactions via Web Connect Files but recently I can't Import it. It gave me an error "The account information downloaded by your Financial Institution contains information that is not supported by QB. Contact your ...." I press "OK" and it takes me to the built in browser which is outdated!
I called QB Customer support. After they used log me in to check my QB, they said my data is corrupted and needs to be "fixed".. for $250.00! I hung up!
THIS IS SO FRUSTRATING!!! Please help, any advise or comments are appreciated!
I'm here to help and address all your concerns about the Bank Feeds function, DD2010.
First, I found an ongoing investigation about the error "The account information downloaded by your Financial Institution contains info not supported by QuickBooks. Contact Financial Institution for details" when importing Web Connect Files in QuickBooks Desktop.
According to the most recent information, it's being caused by incorrect formatting and missing data in a file that's provided by Chase. Our engineers are actively working with Chase to ensure the bank files contain all required fields and data to import into QB correctly.
Please know that our engineers are diligently working with Chase to address the problems with the file formatting and data. We want you to get the banking feature working smoothly again as soon as possible.
In the meantime, you can manually record the transactions in your bank register to make sure that your bookkeeping is up-to date.
Second, let's reset the maintenance release for QuickBooks. This is to update the built-in browser and remove the error when opening a web page inside the software. Here's an article as a guide: Update QuickBooks Desktop to the Latest Release.
Lastly, can you tell us the number that you dialed when you asked for help about the error? Additional charges may apply if the nature of the concern isn't covered by your support plan. However, a one-time charge is only $74.99, while a monthly plan is $29.99. You can read more details about this here: Care Plans for QuickBooks Desktop.
I'm asking this question because there are third-party support sites that are scams. Most of the time, they work by convincing you that there’s a problem with your file or software, then offering to fix it for a fee.
It's always best to reach out to our official support team through the Help menu. This is to make sure that you are speaking to a legitimate support representative when asking for help. Let me share these articles for additional details about this:
Let me know if you have follow-up questions with any of the details I've shared with you. I'm here to provide any guidance and help you need with QuickBooks.
