Do you need to convert data from QBO US version to QBD US version, or else?
I want to export from QBO in the UK to QBD Professional 2019 – UK Version.
I’m not sure what I have to back up. All the data on QBO? There is, presently, no data on QBD.
I would like to export/import the complete data file, not just particular files, balances or lists.
I am retiring from business after having been a QB customer, and a great fan, for around 30 years. Presumably, if I keep my Pro 2019 programme running, it will continue to serve me even though I won’t be able to update the system.
If it’s all,do-able, where can I find instructions?
Kind Regards
Don
QBD 2019 is outdated. Your best option is using a migration tool (i.e TP Exporter for Online, TP Imorter for Desktop).

What do I do if the only option under file is to close company / log off? There is no close company only option.
Thanks for following this thread, oneilk283. I'll share additional insight regarding the option.
To be more specific, are you attempting to open another company file? If so, the Close Company/Log off and Close Company features serve the same purpose.

Which QB Desktop year version do you run?
Hello there, @sm6.
I can see the urgency of resolving this as soon as possible to get you back in working order. To ensure that this gets sorted out, let's make sure that you're using the supported QuickBooks Desktop version and that it's updated to the latest release.
Moreover, if you use Advanced Mode in bank feeds, you need to sign in to your Intuit Account or switch modes. Import of web connect files (.qbo) requires you to sign in to your Intuit Account within QuickBooks Desktop.
On the other hand, if the issue persists, I recommend contacting our QuickBooks Desktop Support Experts. They can securely review your account to furtherly investigate your situation and provide you with a timely resolution.
Moreover, I'll also share this link where you can search for articles that can serve as your reference to guide you manage your QuickBooks file: QuickBooks Desktop Help Articles.
I'm looking forward to getting this resolved. Feel free to leave a reply if you require further assistance with managing your QuickBooks file. The Community team always has your back. Keep safe.
We converted to QB Online and were very unhappy to find that despite what we were told...we really didn't have to. We migrated back, but the deposits didn't seem to transfer starting in 2021 causing us to show an extremley in the negative balance. What did we do wrong to not have the balance transfer correctly? How can we fix? We have literally hours on the phone with support with no help.
I recognize your frustration with migrating your data back to QuickBooks Desktop, @cstephens. I'll explain this further to guide you through the process.
To achieve migrating files from QuickBooks Online to QuickBooks Desktop, and if you're having a hard time doing it, we need a third-party application to back you up on transferring your deposits and other files if you don't need to do it manually since QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online (QBO) has different interfaces.
Furthermore, the only way to resolve this, we need to enter transactions manually one by one as a workaround.
Moving on, we also have available third-party apps that will integrate with QuickBooks Online. If you need one, you can follow the detailed steps below:
You can also visit directly through this link: QuickBooks Apps store.

Thanks for this, but migrating to Online was not my issue. We migrated from Desktop to Online just fine, BUT migrated back to Desktop a few months later and our balance is millions of dollars in the negative.
Hi there, @acstephens

See this Step 5 on this page for more information: Move your QuickBooks Online data to QuickBooks Desktop.
Furthermore, you can visit this article to learn more about how data from QBO is processed inside QBDT: Learn how features and data move from QuickBooks Online to QuickBooks Desktop.
@cstephens, please let me know how it goes. You can mention me in the comment section below if you need further assistance getting your data available inside QuickBooks or if you need to help performing specific tasks inside the program. I'll be here, ready to assist you once again. Take care, and have a nice day!
I would recommend using the last backup file before converting data to QBO. Then use a 3rd party tool to migrate the remaining data from QBO to QBD.
I used the migration tool but it looks like none of the transactions transferred. Is this normal? Im really needing the transactions the most so im concerned. Thank you!
Do you need to convert data from QBO US version to QB Desktop US version?
Which QB Desktop year version did you use to convert?
Yes. 23 Enterprise.
We often have problems using QBD 2022 or 2023 to convert data from QBO. You should try using QBD 2021 instead.
Hello there, @marketing4.
I'll help you migrate your transactions from QuickBooks Online to QuickBooks Desktop.
If you used the migration tool from QuickBooks Online to QuickBooks Desktop and none of the transactions transferred, it is not normal and can be concerning. The migration process should ideally transfer all your transactions from QuickBooks Online to QuickBooks Desktop.
Here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:
Verify the migration settings. Double-check the settings you used during the migration process. Ensure that you selected the option to transfer transactions and chose the correct date range for the migration.
Check the migration log. QuickBooks Desktop usually generates a migration log that provides details about the transferred data. Review the log to see if any errors or warnings were encountered during the migration process. This can help identify any specific issues that may have occurred.
If you're unable to resolve the issue on your own, it's best to reach out to Customer Care team for assistance. They can provide guidance and help troubleshoot the problem further. Be prepared to provide them with details about the migration process and any error messages you encountered.
It's important to note that the migration process can sometimes encounter issues due to various factors, such as data inconsistencies or compatibility issues. QuickBooks support will be able to provide you with the most accurate guidance based on your specific situation.

Let me know if you have questions about migrating from QuickBooks Desktop to QuickBooks Online. I'm always here to help. Have a great day.
I’ve tried these steps of moving data from QBO to QBdesk top and was unsuccessful. I actually have QB self employed online and want to move data to deaktop
You should try to convert your QBSE data to QBO as the first step
then convert your data from QBO to QB Desktop. You can purchase a 3rd party service to do so.
Hello there, Ksawyer1.
I'm here to ensure you can successfully move your QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE) data to QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).
There's no direct way to migrate your data from the QBSE file to QBDT. That means you first need to transfer the data to QuickBooks Online (QBO) and then from QuickBooks Online to QuickBooks Desktop. The process involves exporting your data from QBSE, importing it into QBO, and then using the export feature in QBO to transfer the data to QBDT.
Before converting your QBSE file to QBO, you need to save our financial reports first to have an extra copy for safekeeping.
Afterward, copy your data to QBO. Here's an article you can check, and proceed to Step 2 to complete the process: Switch from QuickBooks Self-Employed to QuickBooks Online.
Once data is transferred, you can start migrating them from QuickBooks Online to QuickBooks Desktop.
Another option is to look for third-party services that specialize in data migration between different versions of QuickBooks. You can visit our QuickBooks App Store to search for an app that can integrate with QuickBooks that suit your business needs.
Let me know if you need further assistance transferring data between QuickBooks versions. I'll be sure to help.
