fraud on quickbooks debit card

Over this past weekend, several attempts were made to use our QB debit card that were unauthorized. When we called the # on the back of the card (as instructed), we got a voicemail that offices were closed. I posted in the community to ask if anyone knew what else we could do and got a generic reply about spam emails. No help! It wasn't a spam or phishing email. It was charges being made to our Quickbooks debit card that is connected to our QB checking account. We were strongly encouraged to get the QB checking account because we would get our money faster. We are not loving it for these reasons:

     1. You can only get 1 (one) debit card

     2. When someone steals your # and tries to charge to your debit card - the fraud # on the back of the card doesn't have a human 24/7

     3. We can't shut off or freeze the card when fraud happens

Hello there, McCall. I understand that keeping your account secure is of utmost importance. I'm here to guide you in getting the resolution for your concerns.

To answer your questions, we currently provide only one debit card per account, and our phone support is available 24/7 but only for QuickBooks Advance users. Additionally, our phone support team is the only one that can freeze or shut off your account. They have the tools to check your account and provide the required support securely.

I suggest that you contact our support team again to resolve this matter. You can call the number on the back of your card for assistance. Please take note of their support hours to avoid any inconvenience.

Moreover, here's an article for the common question in QuickBooks Checking: Frequently Asked Questions.

Additionally, you can refer to this article to secure your account: Privacy and security in QuickBooks.

Let me know if you have further questions about your QuickBooks card. I'm always here to provide you with the help you need.

There were several fraud transactions against our account at two stores in other states and they appear to be atm transactions. We called support 3 times and opened a case, No one ever followed up. We called back they said to wait 10 days. 15 days later we call back and they said the case had been closed. what the hell?  More than 4K gone from our business account and no one does anything, Green Dot bank is a SCAM. Quickbooks checking is responsible for mismanaging our account. Move to a real bank - do not use this service. We love quickbooks for our business, but this checking scam is insane. There is no 24x7 support, no follow up, no way to review transactions. I want a report of these transactions and how they occurred. I want a full accounting of my calls and the investigation process and the outcome. you cannot just say a case has been resolved.

I would feel the same if that happened to me, @ rb2024. I'll ensure you get the reports about these transactions for further investigation.

I can see how difficult it is to unable to verify the cause of the missing funds on your account. To start, we can go to the Manage section of your account to get a bank statement to determine what happened to the missing $4000. Here's how:

  1. Navigate to the Banking Services and select QuickBooks Checking.
  2. Next, click Manage.
  3. Then, select QuickBooks Checking account and then click Monthly Statements.

On the other hand, you can reach out to the Green Dot Bank customer service to ask for a report for a specific period where you notice the fraud happens. To know more, read this article: QuickBooks Checking FAQ.

Additionally, to verify why the previous cases created for your issue were closed, I recommend getting in touch with our QuickBooks Merchant support again. If you have the case number handy, you can provide it to the representative so they can check it and explain to you what happened.

Should you need additional assistance in managing your QuickBooks account, please don't hesitate to leave a reply below. I'd be glad to provide answers and help you achieve your goal. Have a good one.

We were frustrated too but learned something new AFTER finally getting to talk to a human days later. In QBO, on the "bank transactions" screen, click on the words that are underlined "Quickbooks Checking Account." You will see "Envelopes" and QBO has one called Rainy Day Funds or you can create your own. We no longer keep very much in the "checking" account but frequently move funds into an envelope. We were told by customer service that when someone attempts to fraudulently use the Red Dot debit card, they cannot access funds in those envelopes. We were also told to click on "view card" and then "replace card" and then saw a list of options, one being fraudulent activity which apparently freezes activity.
