How to Import QB file from desktop to the app.

I'd like to share some important details about importing your data to the online version. 

 

Viewing the data using your mobile device would require a new QuickBooks Online subscription. Since QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online are two separate programs and have different interface, you will be unable to transfer the data back and forth. 

 

If you decide to move your files to the online version, the migration process could take about 30 minutes to complete. 

 

To get your desktop file ready, please review the following:

 

Once done, you can start moving your file. The steps for QuickBooks Desktop Pro or Premier and QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise are laid out in Step 2 in this article: Move your QuickBooks Desktop file to QuickBooks Online.

 

After the process, you can run a Profit and Loss report or a Balance Sheet report in QuickBooks Online.

 

Here's how:

 

  1. Go to Reports on the left navigation menu.
  2. Type Profit and Loss or Balance Sheet in the search field.
  3. Select the Report period and Accounting method.
  4. Click Run report.

Then, open the same report in QuickBooks Desktop and compare the two. When everything is settled and accurate in your QuickBooks Online, you can download the mobile app here
