You can manually upload your bank transactions into QuickBooks using the CSV files format. You usually download this file from your bank. Before you can upload it, you need to make sure the data is in the correct format.

I am missing 8 months of checking transactions. I manually update and it still does not load the transactions. Am I doing something wrong?

To help you with your missing banking transactions in QuickBooks Online (QBO). You can disconnect and reconnect your account connected to online banking.
Take note that only 90 days' worth of transactions can be downloaded from most banks.
Here’s how disconnect an account connected to online banking:
Once done, you can reconnect the account to start downloading transactions again.
Since you also mentioned that 8 months of your transactions were missing from your account, you can also import the transactions by uploading the CSV file provided by your bank to get the accurate transactions.
