I've got you covered, @userzac.

Allow me to provide some details about why your deposits on hold.

If QuickBooks notice something unexpected in the payments, we'll review them which causes the deposits on hold. And any time there's an issue, we'll email you about it. Usually, you'll receive the email in 2 business days. If it's taking longer than that, please contact our QuickBooks Payments team for further assistance.

You might want to check out these articles to learn why your payments on hold:

Please let me know if you need clarification about this, or there's anything else I can do for you. I'll be standing by for your response. Have a great day.

Hello-

I am having the same issue. I have 4 deposits that are on hold, each saying I will receive an email to release it but there is no email and some of them have been on hold for over a month. The link to "Learn More About Holds" reroutes me to a website that has changed.

I wish I could make it better, @userzac .

As much as I'd love to offer help and locate your deposit, we've got separate support who can address this in no time.

Normally, deposits are on hold as we encounter issues with your receiving account information. After reviewing them, the funds will be automatically posted into your bank account. You can read to learn more about your funds: Why are my funds on hold?

That said, I'd recommend contacting our Merchant Services Team. With their tools, one of our specialists can pull up the account on file and help you locate the deposit in question. To do so:

  1. Go to Help.
  2. Select Contact Us.
  3. Enter Deposits are on hold in the What can we help you with? field.
  4. Click Continue.
  5. Choose a channel where you wish to connect with our dedicated support.

In the same manner, you consider reading through this article and learn more about your deposit schedule: Find out when QuickBooks Payments deposits customer payments.

On top of that, I've also included this reference for a compilation of articles you can use while working with us: Invoices and Payments for QuickBooks Online.

If you have any other questions, please let me know by leaving any comments below. I'll be here to lend a hand.

I know what you mean!  I just started Quickbooks and am in the 30 day free stage, and will be purchasing on the end of the free stage!  I received a message that my payment was on hold, and an email was sent, but I have seen no email.  I have checked this site over 15 times looking for a solution with no answers.

I could understand if my payments are on hold because of the intro phase, but I still don't have a reason why its on hold and what to do to get it released.  Maybe this is a way to rush me to get the subscription!

I'll see what the status is once I start paying for the services.

I appreciate you for joining the thread, Eljai.

I would be glad to hear some updates about the status of your payment once you'll subscribe to a paid subscription and start paying for the services. However, if you need to get an immediate response to the hold payment, you can connect with our Support Team as suggested by JonprilL above. This way, a live representative can access your account securely and verify the notification message.

On the other hand, please feel free to skim through the topics from our help articles for more hints and resources while working with QuickBooks in the future. Here's the link: Find help articles, video tutorials, and more.

What is my 2 small deposit

Thanks for taking the time to share your concern, @Cordelro86. I'd be glad to share some details about the two small deposit.

If you're referring to your payroll bank account, you'll want to verify the test deposits by going to the Payroll page. The charge will appear on the bank statement as either "QuickBooks: Verify Bank" or "Intuit: Verify Bank.

QuickBooks will send two small deposits to the account within the next three days. Once you get the confirmation email, you'll have to click the verify link in the email. You can also sign in to QuickBooks Online, then go to the Cash Flow menu and select Verify bank.

  1. Go to Payroll, then click the Employees tab.
  2. Click Finish payroll tasks.
  3. Proceed with Verify the test deposit now.
  4. Enter the two test transactions, then click OK

For reference (and other steps for different payroll subscriptions), you can read this article: Verify test transaction.

Though, if you're referring to your QuickBooks Cash account verification, you can do it through the Cash Flow menu. QuickBooks will send two small deposits to the account within the next three days. Once you get the confirmation email, you'll have to click the verify link in the email. You can also sign in to QuickBooks Online, then go to the Cash Flow menu and select Verify bank.

Here's how to verify the test deposits after receiving them:

  1. In QuickBooks Online, go to the Cash Flow menu
  2. Click the Verify bank link.
  3. Enter the two deposit amounts, then click Confirm.

If you need more help with the verification, this article can help you out: Use your QuickBooks Cash account.

In case you need further assistance with the deposits, I'd suggest contacting our Customer Support Team. They can check your account securely and help you with the deposit. You can follow the steps shared by my colleague JonpriL on how to reach them.

Also, you can read through these articles once you're ready to run payroll or track your cash flow in QuickBooks:

If you meant something else, I'd appreciate any extra details you have so I can provide the steps to move forward. Looking forward to your reply. Enjoy the rest of the day.

Same problem, and support does not understand.

We are in Canada too and the understanding is worse.

Merchant Services tries to email / call us, but the emails and calls DO NOT WORK.  So we can never solve the problem.  Merchant Services do not understand what is going on inside your QBO account and vice versa.  It's very frustrating.

Solution is to stop using Quickbooks for incoming payments.  Use stripe or ETF while they fix their IT back-end.  Maybe in 2024, Merchant Services will figure out how to send important emails reliably.

12 payments totalling over $15,000 have been declined by merchant services. Where does the money go? This is ridiculous. Paid but not deposited for 2 weeks now

Hi there, @pdaniels06.

I can provide information regarding the deposit processing time to ensure you receive your money.

QuickBooks Payment deposits your funds depending on your deposit speeds. It varies on the product you're using, the type of payment, and how long it takes for your bank to process the deposits.

We also sent emails about payments that were declined and withheld. I'd like to verify, if have you checked your email inbox associated with your QuickBooks Payments account? But since it's already been 2 weeks now, I recommend contacting our Merchant support team. They have the tools to pull up your account in a secure environment to find out where the funds are, and ensure you'll get the payment.

You might also want to check out this link to learn how to accept and take customer payments from QuickBooks: Take and process payments with QuickBooks Payments.

Please know that you're always welcome to comment below if you have other questions about processing customers' payments. I'm just around to help. Have a great day!
